The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

The Senior Risk Analyst, Alternative Risk Solutions performs moderate to high complexity analysis to evaluate the underwriting / structure / credit / legal / etc. risks embedded within the Alternative Solutions program offerings. This will include leading efforts as new risk areas are explored. Work closely with the Head of Alternative Solutions Practice ensuring that deadlines / quote dates are met, deals are tracked, and work closely with other Liberty Mutual divisions for underwriting analysis. Present quotes to brokers/agents, present to senior Liberty Mutual leadership, and complete deal memos for internal purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts moderate to high complexity analysis under general direction.
  • Independent analysis on risk and communicating risk / program structure to both internal and external audience.
  • Act a liaison between brokers and Liberty Mutual in discussion of risks around Alternative Solutions programs.
  • Queries data to conduct ad hoc analysis of deal metrics, deal flow, and builds simple tools and queries for others to use.
  • Coordinate underwriting efforts, including leading discussions, between Alternatives Solutions and the various Liberty Mutual profit centers to ensure programs are within risk appetite.
  • Provides thoughtful recommendations to Head of Alternative Solutions Practice on deal structure, pricing, strategy, etc.
  • Consults on complex business issues and program design considerations.
  • Serves as point person for key broker access to Liberty Mutual’s Alternative Solutions Practice.
  • Conduct research on deal specific exposure and new / emerging risk for underwriting considerations.
  • Attend various client and broker meetings as required and be the face of Liberty Mutual at such meetings.
  • Assist in the development of new products that fall within Alternative Solutions
  • Prepare deal memos on bound deals and ensure that underwriting files are managed / maintained

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field
  • Minimum 7, typically 10 years or more of relevant work experience
  • Master's degree and/or ACAS or similar designation beneficial
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (SAS, Access)
  • Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making and communication skills
  • Experience managing projects preferred
