The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

As the Senior Director, Pipeline Planning & Programs you will be a part of the People, Purpose & Brand (PP&B) Talent Pipeline organization, a team that partners with business and function leaders to define skill needs for today and tomorrow and co-create offerings in service of selecting and developing our talent and evolving our diverse, global workforce to grow and contribute to our shared purpose and enterprise goals.

This leader will be responsible for forecasting and proactively planning for Enterprise talent needs and driving cross-cutting Talent Pipeline programs. You will also provide global thought leadership in the areas of workforce strategy, skills architecture, including leading a team of talent professionals who design and implement solutions that can be scaled across the enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively partner with senior leaders to develop five-year rolling strategic workforce plans, translating business strategy and culture aspirations into talent and skill needs, staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Develop Enterprise workforce strategies to ensure the right number of people with the right skills and experience in the right place at the right time to mitigate talent-related risk, balancing cost and culture.
  • Set and maintain Liberty’s Skill architecture to enable a skills-based talent strategy end-to-end.
  • Ensure Liberty’s Assessment portfolio is continually updated to meet evolving business, talent and labor market needs and is integrated across the talent pipeline.
  • Oversee the research and innovation agenda linked to Talent Pipeline priorities in close partnership with analytics and technology partners.
  • Ensure a connected People Leader and Employee experience by overseeing cross-Talent Pipeline programs.

Core Competencies:

  • Strategic Workforce Planning: Continual identification of gaps in the workforce and developing a strategic plan to ensure the organization has what is needed to meet current and future goals.
  • Trusted Partner: Demonstrated ability to build collaborative and trusting relationships across all levels of the organization, including senior and executive levels, with a proven ability to manage a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to influence positive outcomes as normally acquired through previous leadership experience.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze and interpret global leadership development trends, research, and data for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Thought Leadership: As demonstrated through writing, presentations and/or participation in professional organizations with the ability to own and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant and progressively more responsible work experience in areas of strategy, finance, and/or talent management with a strong preference for prior experience in strategic workforce planning.
  • Adept at strategic thinking / thought leadership, inclusive people leadership, problem solving and critical thinking, consulting (listening and influencing), project management, top-down, executive-level communication (clearly articulate and defend his/her point of view both orally and in writing),teamwork, partnership, and collaboration, relationship-building (internal and external network), change agility (adapting to changing priorities, drive and resilience), ownership of the work and managing multiple projects simultaneously and decision making in complex governance structures.
  • Data analysis, strategic planning, financial acumen and strategic workforce planning.
