The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

Liberty Mutual Insurance has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to join our team and provide legal support to attorneys and professionals on litigation, corporate or business matters.

Responsibilities

  • Provide paralegal support within a shared service function serving multiple legal practice groups and the insurance business operations for Liberty Mutual’s Global Legal and Compliance Department.
  • Independently review and support core legal services, including:
  • Analysis of legal contracts.
  • Review of marketing and training material.
  • Management and oversight of litigation and compliance processes and documents.
  • Follow job aids and documentation to assist in reviews, leveraging well-established processes and technology integrations.
  • Utilize technology solutions and work in a collaborative team environment that promotes continuous improvement and change.
  • Adapt and expand responsibilities over time due to the evolving nature of the shared service function.

Note: A strong preference for a candidate who resides in the Boston area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, with a preference for 1+ years of working experience as a paralegal or in a related analyst role.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform basic legal research, writing, and analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with attorneys and clients.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and effectively prioritize high volume work.
  • Must thrive in a creative and collaborative team setting with remote team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; comfortable with and curious about the use of technology.
