The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
Responsible for increasing enterprise agility by working closely with USRM Technology domain/platform leadership through maturing agile discipline and scaling principles and practices through facilitation, teaching, coaching and mentoring. Identifies and solutions organizational impediments which limit customer centricity, productivity, and/or quality.
Note: This role will have a hybrid work arrangement based in Plano, TX, Portsmouth, NH, Boston, MA, or Indianapolis, IN
Responsibilities
- Coaching and Mentoring: Serves as a trusted agile advisor for domain/platform leadership; coaches and mentors domain leadership and Agile Coaches, and those in the TPM, Product Owner job family, Engineering Directors and Managers on lean-agile values, principles and techniques to create a culture that supports and promotes agility and enables teams to work together effectively; Provide feedback for continuous learning and relentless improvement.
- Agile Discipline: Assesses Agile maturity at the domain level; Oversee and maintains methodology playbooks; Develops strategies for adoption; Identifies emerging industry practices; Implement improvements to advance agility.
- Community/Culture: Creates & contributes to Agile communities (cohorts, circles, etc.) to support continuous learning & foster a Lean-Agile mindset in their portfolio and job family; Champions a willingness to experiment, inspect, and adapt to discover new ways of working more effectively together by fostering a continuous learning environment; Influence by building positive relationships
- Teaching: Leads the development and delivery of training and learning events on Lean-Agile practices. Acts as a mentor and advisor in growing others’ Lean-Agile teaching skills
- Scaling: Encourages system level transparency to identify, reduce and eliminate organizational impediments which impede agility; provides recommendations to address roadblocks and areas of opportunity
- Facilitation: Leads complex problem-solving activities to define problems, assess current state root causes, design and test solutions, and implement solutions leading to desired outcomes; Mentors and helps grow facilitation skills; Helps to plan, design, and facilitate larger domain events, as needed
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies, design thinking principles, product management, and/or business processes, as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in a relevant field (business, computer science, etc.) and a minimum of 6-8 years` of relevant work experience
- Master`s degree preferred
- Previous experience as a scrum master or product owner required
- Knowledge of relevant domains/ products/ journeys preferred
- Agile certifications such as Agile Certified Practitioner or similar preferred
- Proven experience with agile methods, preferably implementing large-scale transformations in different contexts
- Ability to foster and encourage teamwork and productive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and across organizational lines, solid repertoire of coaching techniques including for executive audiences
- Strong communication skills with ability to align organization on decisions, advanced knowledge of management concepts, practices and techniques
