The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

This is a Boston based position with a hybrid work schedule of 2 days in office.

The Executive Creative Director leads, supports and oversees an in-house creative team to produce conceptual, strategic and compelling work across all communication channels. The person in this role brings an active, hands-on approach to developing the work and is responsible for assuring concepts, art direction, design, and copywriting meet business objectives and budget requirements. They set the direction of the creative process and supervise the day-to-day operations and project work within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and oversees in-house creative to ensure delivery of conceptual, strategic and compelling work across all communication channels.
  • Supports the interpretation of stakeholder objectives and development of marketing/creative briefs.
  • Assures concepts, art direction, design, and copywriting meet business objectives and delivers executions that meet budget requirements.
  • Presents creative concepts to stakeholders in a persuasive, compelling manner.
  • Collaborates with strategists, project managers, designers, writers, producers and business partners to deliver work that drives successful results.
  • Manages day-to-day operations of the team by determining appropriate project assignment based on individual skill sets, ensuring smooth internal workflow, providing direction and counsel as needed, and setting priorities to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Drives operational efficiencies in the creative process to meet business, project and team needs.
  • Works with outside agencies to ensure consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Fosters a high performing culture through hiring, developing, motivating and inspiring assigned staff.
  • Defines individual performance objectives and development plans, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Marketing, Writing, Design, or similar creative field with a minimum of ten years’ experience in creative and leadership roles, with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, strategic thinking, interpersonal skills, organizational capabilities, and negotiation expertise
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required to effectively determine and interpret stakeholder needs with the ability to present ideas across all levels
  • Demonstrated success in managing, motivating and inspiring a team
