The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

Independently plans and monitors the development of financial plans and the analysis and reporting of results in a deadline focused environment, working with the team to gather information and resolve issues as they arise. Uses increasing business acumen and analytical expertise to perform ad hoc financial analysis and effectively communicates the results to management. Leads efforts to continuously improve processes to increase the speed and effectiveness of financial analysis.

The Financial Analyst will perform complex financial functions in support of the Credit Risk Management Collateral unit within GRS Financial Services. The position will perform timely and accurate acknowledgement, review and oversight of the group’s operations and workflow. Work closely with various members of the Underwriting, Credit Risk Management, and leadership teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Review financial information received for completeness and input into financial systems
  • Monitor compliance with policy and procedures; identify trends in activities and outcomes with recommendations to management on areas in need of improvement
  • Prepare and distribute operating reports for management and stakeholders
  • Research and resolve routine and complex issues and discrepancies, including taking corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence
  • Recommend changes in processes and procedures to enhance efficiency of workflow
  • Continually assesses the business value and efficiency of the work performed, making suggestions for improvements and collaborating with others in implementing them
  • Accountable for serving as a liaison for Credit Risk Management for assigned accounts, stakeholders, customers, and/or vendors
  • May handle sensitive issues or transactions
  • Will handle account assignments, providing field support on Security Templates, Agreements and Collateral
  • Leads or actively participates in increasingly complex department projects and continuous improvement activities.

Note: You will be required to go into the office twice a week if you reside within a 50-mile radius of our offices in Boston, MA. Please note that this policy is subject to change.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor`s degree (Finance or Accounting) is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of finance experience
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results
  • Communicates effectively with teammates and others, leading meetings and interacting with increasingly higher levels of management to gather information and effectively present results and recommendations
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word is preferred
