- Collaborative partner: Working with our I Buy I Sell – Third Party Integrations team of product owners and fellow engineers, you’ll tackle technical challenges and ensure quality as we build technologies to meet customers and partners where they are.
- Customer-centric engineer: Putting clients’ needs first, you’ll translate customer requirements into technical applications and support the implementation of new software
- Motivated mentor: Exercise your technical chops while coaching and collaborating with junior software engineers.
- Forward thinker: Merely fixing a problem isn’t enough, using your proactive mindset and initiative, you’ll also identify opportunities to enhance performance, quality and efficiency
Qualifications
Technical Skill-Set:
- Proficiency in software engineering languages and tools, including one or more of the following: Javascript, Typescript, Node.JS, Java, SpringBoot, RESTful services, XML transformation, service orchestration and AWS Cloud implementations.
- Experience with building AWS Cloud Native components
- Experience with designing scalable APIs, including familiarity with the OpenAPI Initiative
Highly qualified candidates:
- Working knowledge of ACORD standards (XML or Next Gen Digital Standards)
- Experience with C#/.NET
- Leveraging AI/ML tools in software development, including integration, monitoring, and optimization.
Experience
- Eight or more years of software engineering experience
- Hands-on involvement with layered systems architectures, designs and shared software concepts
- Quality first mindset including familiarity with unit, functional and system integration testing
- Excellent negotiation, facilitation and consensus-building capabilities
- A history of translating business requirements into technical designs.
- Agile engineering capabilities and a design-thinking mindset.
- Collaboration, adaptability, flexibility and the ability to manage time and prioritize work with a globally distributed development team.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineers.
- Thrives while working in a collaborative team environment
- In-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies, architectural concepts and principles
- Awareness of policies regarding security and privacy
- Understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics and incremental delivery
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
