Description

At Liberty, our Personal Lines Property & Specialty Product team partners across the company to design and launch home and specialty insurance solutions — from homeowners (property) and condos to renters and other niche lines (specialty)— that meet evolving customer and agent needs. We focus on preparing and executing program rollouts, delivering on our growth roadmap, and modernizing pricing and the technology that supports the work we do. Organized into five functions—State Management, Development, Delivery, Underwriting Effectiveness, and Specialty—we collaborate closely to meet our goals and help customers feel secure today and confident about tomorrow.

Our USRM Property Design and Experience team is seeking a talented, motivated individual to join our highly visible group that focuses on enhancing and innovating our core homeowners insurance products. This analyst role will focus on enhancing our Personal Lines Property products with a mission of building net-new offerings to meet customer needs and explore transformative solutions through deep product research. The role will have a focus on helping us determine design requirements and completing analyses for our go-forward One Property product as we bring our Independent Agent & Direct channel offerings together.

Responsibilities:

  • Analytics and business rationale: Under general direction, query data to perform ad hoc analysis, derive hypotheses, and frame conclusions using sound business rationale.
  • Design and Solutioning: Use analytics to develop solution designs that account for cross functional considerations; demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity to proactively identify new opportunities.
  • Industry Knowledge: Applies industry expertise to anticipate upstream and downstream impacts of proposed recommendations and regularly collect input from cross-functional groups to build perspective.
  • Recommendations & Presentation: Develops recommendations supported by valuation, design analytics, and business rationale; presents findings to P&S Product leadership and drives cross-functional alignment on required strategic decisions.
  • Project management skills: Manages complex, ambiguous projects and coordinates working groups to execute on strategic priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics or Insurance preferred; or equivalent experience
  • Approx 5 or more years related work experience
  • Knowledge of insurance principles and concepts required
  • Advanced analytical/problem solving and research skills
  • Effective communication skills for writing reports/proposals and making presentations
  • Ability to work independently and lead others during projects
  • Knowledge of the business practices and processes
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and data base software

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
