Description

We’re seeking a missiondriven and strategic leader to serve as Senior Director, Data Science for Distribution & Marketing. This highimpact role oversees data science teams to develop and deliver models and insights that enable datadriven strategic decision making for our Distribution and Marketing vertical. As a senior member of our data science community, you’ll inform strategic and tactical direction both within your domain and across data science. You will partner directly with Distribution and Marketing leadership, and drive transformative solutions that contribute to longterm growth and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow data science team by providing technical oversight, coaching, and development to enable high performance.
  • Own strategy and delivery for modeling, analytics tools, dashboards, and decision-support products that drive datadriven strategic decisions across Distribution & Marketing.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, risk, legal, and compliance to translate strategic priorities into actionable analytics solutions and to manage model risk.
  • Drive large-scale, cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable business impact and support enterprise objectives.
  • Establish and evolve departmental policies, processes, and talent strategies to scale the data science community and foster knowledge sharing.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to senior leadership and diverse stakeholders; influence decision-making and shape enterprise-wide analytics practices.

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of predictive analytic techniques and statistical diagnostics of models.
  • Proven ability to lead and drive projects to completion through others, to include prior experience effectively managing talent.
  • Exchanges ideas and conveys complex information clearly and concisely, verbally, visually, and in writing, consistent with stakeholders with up to and including SBU/Corp Dept leadership and enterprise wide.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills required to establish and build effective relationships within and outside the organization and company.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate areas of senior management concern, integrate different perspectives, and respond accordingly.
  • Competencies typically acquired through an advanced degree or Actuarial designation and 8+ years of relevant experience or may be acquired through a Bachelor`s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
