This role includes plan design elements, governance, including investment eligibility, and detailed reporting to stakeholders and participants. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on carried interest plan experience with strong Excel and presentation skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a collaborative, client-service mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Governance, Eligibility and Advisory Support
- Prepare quarterly governance materials (e.g., Investment Advisory Committee (IAC) decks) covering eligible investments, vintaging decisions, and other plan governance items.
- Maintain and enhance the internal eligibility and rulings tracker (“source of truth”) to document decisions and support consistent application of plan rules.
- Partner with business leaders, Talent Business Partners, and Finance to evaluate eligibility questions and communicate outcomes clearly.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on carried interest plan design concepts and governance practices in cross-functional forums and meetings.
Plan Design & Documentation
- Partner with Compensation and key stakeholders to support plan design and documentation updates, ensuring alignment to governance decisions and business needs.
- Translate plan terms into clear, operational requirements for administration, tracking, and reporting.
- Support documentation for investment/vintage eligibility standards and decision rationales to improve clarity and consistency over time.
Systems, Data Management & Reporting
- Own the relationship and deliverables with third-party carry plan administrator/vendor (e.g., EWM) related to participant-level reporting, data validation, and plan administration support.
- Partner with Finance to source required inputs (including fund/waterfall outputs, where Finance retains ownership of the underlying calculations) and ensure participant-level reporting reflects accurate, reconciled data.
- Support ongoing evolution of the technology/data landscape, including requirements gathering, data mapping, and user testing for reporting and tracking needs.
- Maintain robust Excel-based models and trackers while identifying opportunities to streamline and improve data quality, version control, and reporting workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
- 5–8+ years of experience in fund finance, asset management, private equity/real assets/credit investing, or related investment finance roles.
- Direct, hands-on carried interest plan experience (governance, plan design/documentation support, participant awards tracking, and reporting).
- Strong knowledge of fund structures, carried interest, and investment performance concepts; ability to interpret carry terms and apply them operationally.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong PowerPoint capabilities; ability to produce clear, executive-ready materials.
- Exceptional attention to detail with proven ability to manage sensitive financial and compensation data.
- Strong collaboration skills with ability to partner effectively across Finance, Compensation/HR, Talent Business Partners, and senior leadership.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights.
- Nice to have: familiarity with EWM (or similar vendor administrators), Allvue, and/or Power BI.
Competencies
- High integrity and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong judgment and ability to apply governance standards consistently.
- Analytical rigor with a solutions-oriented approach to ambiguity.
- Ability to balance technical detail with clear stakeholder communication.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving asset management environment.
