Description
Senior Analyst within Exposure Management to lead the delivery of Catastrophe Modelling for the Global LII Retail demand Underwriting functions in relation to Pricing, Portfolio Management, Research and Validation, stakeholder reporting, cat modelling project and change communication and analytical insights where required.
Role will support the Catastrophe Modelling Manager in continuous improvement of the Retail portfolio; it’s data processes and protocols and offshoring operational team
Responsibilities
- Technical expert and primary contact for user support on Catastrophe Modeling (AIR/RMS) applications.
- Provide modeled output for pricing of a variety of reinsurance treaties in a timely manner.
- Coordinate rollup of catastrophe portfolio and work on ad-hoc projects with Exposure Management team in London.
- Develop processes for collecting and monitoring data on a monthly basis to ensure a high level of data integrity.
- Applies expert knowledge to CAT Management and data modeling tools employed by LSM.
- Independently prepare complex analyses and presents findings to management. Work with CAT Management to create standard reports to keep management informed of current exposure accumulations and forecast of future risk.
- Develop ad-hoc reporting as required.
- Work with CAT Management and Entity Management to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of the data collection, modeling and reporting.
- Retains ownership and management of projects and initiatives directed by CAT management.
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements to processes, controls and technology systems related to CAT Management.
- Develop and implement recommended improvements.
Qualifications
- College degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Finance/General Business or Engineering or equivalent education and/or experience
- 5-7 years of catastrophic modeling and management reporting experience
- 2-3 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency with CAT management software employed by GRS.
- Superb data mining skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SQL knowledge
- Insurance and/or reinsurance background preferred
