Role Summary
Lead Liberty Mutual’s Total Loss Salvage Business Analyst team who are responsible for maximizing recoveries on salvage vehicles (~$500M annually). This leader blends people leadership, analytical skillset, and market/auction strategy to optimize sales outcomes, strengthen operational controls, and continuously improve the end-to-end salvage process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of salvage representatives/business analysts; set expectations, coach performance, and build a strong talent pipeline.
- Drive salvage recovery strategy by monitoring performance and adjusting tactics based on vehicle market conditions and channel results.
- Use data and insights to identify performance drivers, address trends, and implement actions that improve net recovery and cycle time.
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of salvage documentation/title handling and auction readiness; strengthen controls and compliance.
- Partner effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors/auction partners to improve outcomes and resolve issues.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns and complex salvage questions requiring leadership intervention.
- Champion continuous improvement and a culture of accountability, learning, and customer empathy.
Ideal Experience Includes:
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team; prior direct people-leader experience strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to improve outcomes (KPIs,trends, root cause, action plans).
- Knowledge of APD/total loss workflows and salvage handoff (preferred) or closely related transferable experience.
- Understanding of salvage/remarketing drivers and ability to adapt strategy to auto market changes.
- Track record driving operational excellence: quality, cycle time, process improvement, and controls.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate effectively with vendors/partners.
- Strong judgment, customer focus, and ability to handle escalations while ensuring compliance.
Qualifications
- Supervisory, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legal liability, general insurance policy coverage and the State`s Tort Laws.
- Licensing required in some states.
- 5-7 years directly related work experience, Bachelor`s degree preferred.
