Description
We are seeking a leader to join GRS North America Claims Process & Insights to manage a team of project managers supporting US Casualty Claims. In this role you will guide your team through the full lifecycle of strategic initiatives assessment, design, development, implementation, and measurement for low-to-moderate complexity projects. You will scan across business lines and the broader marketplace to identify improvement opportunities, own stakeholder engagement, and collaboration to develop and sustain solutions and determine the appropriate level and cadence of communications. You will help prioritize the portfolio of work and ensure projects that may affect multiple business lines are escalated. A core focus of this role is developing talent: you will coach and mentor team members to build skills, increase capability, and prepare for future roles as they lead multiple initiatives that drive measurable process and outcome improvements for the GRS claims operation.
About the team:
The Process & Insights organization in Claims Enablement is responsible for implementing a think global, act local approach to process excellence, continuous improvement, partner connectivity and insights. We ensure UW profitability, and our overarching Claims strategy inform how we support Claims leadership and intake, build out, and execute on all initiatives. The team partners with Field Leadership, Claims Enablement, Underwriting, Service, Legal, Data Science Solutions, Training, Technology and other enabling functions to design and deliver the NA Claims vision.
You will be required to go into the office twice a month if you reside within 50 miles of one of the following offices: Westborough, MA; Boston, MA; Hoffman Estates, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Lake Oswego, OR; Chandler, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; Plano, TX; or Suwanee, GA. Responsibilities:
• Oversees teams of project managers accountable for all facets of US Casualty claims processes with significant enterprise impact.
• Lead and manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities and timely delivery.
• Define project scope and develop detailed plans for complex initiatives, managing critical paths, milestones, dependencies, and risks.
• Manage a team responsible to deliver projects end-to-end, coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve objectives and measurable outcomes.
• Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing talent; provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and recognition to build capability and reinforce behaviors that drive claims service excellence.
• Create an engaging, inclusive employee experience that fosters development and prepares team members for future roles.
• Tackle intermediate to advanced complexity work, rapidly learning and applying technical concepts across lines of business and partner organizations (e.g., Underwriting, Actuarial).
• Partner closely with Systems/IT to ensure system enhancements and process designs adhere to Lines of Business Claims Quality Standards and practices.
• Act as a thought leader to identify and prioritize opportunities for continuous improvement in claims processes and operations.
• Apply advanced root-cause problem-solving techniques to diagnose issues and recommend sustainable solutions.
• Use intermediate to advanced analytics skills to build evidence-based recommendations, assess opportunities, and measure program impact.
• Prepare and deliver clear, persuasive presentations for varied audiences—using storytelling, structured arguments, and executive presence to influence decisions.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven success managing complex, multi stakeholder projects from scoping through delivery.
• Demonstrated thought leadership with the ability to influence strategy and drive decision making.
• Experience taking ownership of downstream impacts and delivering sustainable business results.
• Advanced root cause problem solving skills and a data driven approach to diagnosing and resolving issues.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including executive level presentation and stakeholder engagement.
• Track record of developing talent through coaching, mentoring, and performance management to build high performing teams.
