Description

Advance your career at Liberty Mutual Insurance - A Fortune 100 Company!

The Business Lines Package & Specialty Program Delivery team is looking for a Manager of Product Analysis (in Liberty’s GRM US organization). In Program Delivery we take the newest products and pricing models developed by our Design and Modeling teams and implement them accurately and efficiently into state markets. Individually and through management of a team of 3-4 analysts, this position offers a high-visibility opportunity to be a direct and key contributor to GRM US profit and growth goals and help shape current and future pricing programs.

We are looking for a person that:

  • Thrives leading a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Prioritizes development, team culture, and DEI as a team leader
  • Is proactive collaborating with many teams and cross-functional partners
  • Utilizes critical thinking to propose innovative solutions to tough problems

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Manage a team of 2-3 analysts: overseeing priority alignment, ensuring high-quality project and work outputs and supporting analyst growth and development
  • Have and oversee ownership of state product builds: you and your analysts will autonomously own and execute implementations of new pricing programs for small commercial package and specialty products (i.e. property, liability, business owner’s package, and farm)
    • You will leverage and inspire technical and data skills – to ensure new pricing models are calibrated (i.e. priced) accurately and appropriately
    • You will leverage and inspire project management skills – to ensure your states are built and implemented accurately and on time
    • You will collaborate with many stakeholders – to ensure product specifications are built correctly and Department of Insurance filings have an optimal chance for approval
    • You will support many communications – both formal and informal, that ensure informed consensus and accurate implementations
    • You will be encouraged to be proactive – to ensure our project teams are fully aligned and our stakeholders properly informed
  • Problem-solve: all states, products and models are unique and provide challenges to achieve successful implementations
  • Grow your network and influence: we work closely with, and must align, an expansive group of stakeholders throughout the state implementation lifecycle
  • Receive opportunities in front of leadership: through project updates, technical presentations and advertising project milestones and state launches
  • Propose opportunities for team and organizational development: we believe in a culture of continuous improvement and encourage all employees to identify opportunities and recommend improvements
  • Be recognized for high-quality work: Delivery managers encourage and support a culture of recognition, both formally and through expanded opportunities
  • Grow professionally: our work is important, and our responsibilities are expansive, so you will get exposure to many types of projects and skillsets
  • Enjoy and support our culture: managers and analysts in Delivery work hard and juggle many tasks, but we believe in a work-life balance as well as opportunities to have fun and personally know your teammates

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have relevant experience and progressively growing responsibilities within the insurance industry
  • Have direct (or at least indirect) experience managing others
  • Be proficient with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint and data analysis software (ex. SAS or SQL)
  • Have experience with project management and/or product delivery
  • Exhibit planning, organizational, process, analytical, cost-benefit, collaboration, decision-making, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Have a background in national or small commercial insurance products
  • Be proactive, autonomous and willing to influence others

Qualifications for this role are:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information management, economics, or another quantitative field (MBA or advanced degree in a quantitative field is preferred)
  • Minimum of four years of relevant work experience

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, software applications and business drivers.
  • Advanced knowledge of business operations, policies, procedures, and priorities, to include a strong understanding of the function's value chain and market conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise influence, engage employees; communicate effectively; promote collaboration, team work and change initiatives; and build value for customers through a service orientation, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Displays solid business acumen and integrated thinking.
  • Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience to include business analysis work and prior experience working in an effective leadership capacity.

Employees may apply for a new role after completing 12 months of employment in their current position.
