Description
The Planning & Portfolio Management team is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst-Pricing to own analytic assessment of book profitability and growth across GRS North America products. Join the team to play a central role in shaping GRS North America’s profitability and strategic direction: you’ll own high‑impact forecasting and portfolio work, collaborate daily with underwriting, pricing and finance leaders, and have visible influence on multi‑year targets like the 2030 strategy. The key responsibilities of this role include supporting development of robust Operational Plan (OVP) combined-ratio forecasts, developing and validating by-channel Loss Ratio forecasts for the financial plan, and supporting broader GRS North America portfolio-management initiatives. The role reports to the Portfolio Management Team Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the quarterly combined-ratio forecast process for each GRS North America line of business.
- Develop and validate by-channel Loss Ratio forecasts and associated assumptions to feed financial plan run-rates and profit reviews.
- Translate pricing and underwriting viewpoints into quantified plan inputs and present trade-offs to senior stakeholders to drive consensus on go‑forward actions.
- Partner with pricing and underwriting leads to run scenario and sensitivity analyses that inform actions taken in profit reviews and portfolio prioritization.
- Communicate areas of concern that require stakeholder attention, providing thoughtful recommendations that influence countrywide decisions and initiatives.
- Apply knowledge of insurance financials and improvement levers to build cross-functional consensus on plans to achieve consistent, profitable growth.
- Query data and conduct ad hoc analyses to answer advanced business questions; build reusable tools and queries to support stakeholders.
- Serve as a point person for high-complexity, countrywide implementations.
- Lead own workstreams, managing low-to-moderate complexity projects independently and conducting high-complexity analyses with minimal direction.
Qualifications
- Proven math and analytical skills, as normally acquired through the pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience required.
- Prior experience and solid knowledge of actuarial techniques and standards, as well as other business operations including financial, underwriting, legal, statistics, claims, sales, etc.
- Solid oral and written and presentation communication skills and ability to interact effectively within and outside the organization.
- Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Ability to exercise discretion, and apply independent judgment and well-developed critical thinking skills in execution of assignments and projects.
- Ability to balance multiple projects with minimal direction.
- Advanced computing skills (MS Office Excel, SAS, etc.); Ability to build models of moderate complexity.
