Description
Acts as the Network Solutions Engineer responsible for engineering leadership, design, and delivery of global mission critical network platforms supporting enterprise security, identity, and wireless connectivity. This role operates at a senior level, owning complex, high risk modernization initiatives and providing strategic technical leadership across engineering, operations, and business stakeholders. The position requires end to end accountability for large scale network programs, proactive risk management, and the ability to translate complex technical challenges into scalable, repeatable enterprise solutions. Mentors more junior Engineers as needed. Decisions require creative thinking to envision the future system landscape and develop system migration plans; may oversee the decisions made by others. Receives general directions from the IT Manager or IT Director.
Responsibilities:
- Wireless - This role requires enterprise level ownership of Liberty Mutual’s wireless platforms, where Wi Fi, cellular, and satellite connectivity are primary services supporting business operations. The work demands leadership of large-scale wireless modernization including controller transitions, Wi Fi 7 readiness, and next generation hardware adoption—while proactively managing risk and preventing enterprise wide outages.
- NAC (Network Access Control) - This role requires enterprise level ownership of Cisco ISE, Liberty Mutual’s mission critical Network Access Control platform that governs secure access for all users, devices, and services. The work demands engineering leadership of large scale, global ISE modernization including redesigned architectures, new hardware platforms, parallel clusters, and rollback capable migration executed with minimal user impact.
- Leadership - This role requires enterprise level engineering leadership with end-to-end accountability for globally critical network platforms and modernization programs. The work demands ownership of large scale, high risk, multi-phase initiatives executed across multiple countries and stakeholder groups, with responsibility for architectural direction, delivery, and operational stability.
- Decisions require creative thinking to envision the future system landscape and develop system migration plans; may oversee the decisions made by others.
- Receives general direction from the IT Manager or IT Director.

Qualifications
Internal candidates that are in Seattle or currently remote may still be considered for this role
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, and eight years of solid, diverse work experience in network technology, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Requires excellent analytical ability, strong judgment and problem analysis techniques, an in-depth knowledge of the business unit's functions and applications, and a broad knowledge of networking alternatives
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation and consensus building skills required
- In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies required
- In-depth knowledge of Wireless and NAC IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies
