Description

The Property QI Team Manager oversees a team of Quality Improvement Specialists who perform quality/ performance reviews of Property claims files. Ensures each review is completed according to Property claims handling standards. Advises team members about specific aspects of local claims processing. Reviews and analyzes files. Facilitates calibration of standards within the QI team and between QI team to Field teams . Assists management in compiling and analyzing results and presenting findings to claims management.

Responsibilities:

  • All managerial duties for their assigned direct reports to include interviewing, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Leads focus audits. Responsible for a team supporting all specific Line of Business job families.
  • Ensures each review is completed according to established standards and procedures.
  • Leads centralized reviews with a greater analysis of trend identification and analysis of data.
  • Analyze QI data to identify trends, compile and present results and recommendations to regional/operational leadership.
  • Facilitate and participate in calibration with quality improvement team.
  • Prepares QI reports for presentation to regional/operational leadership.
  • Supports Continuous Improvement and Participates and/or leads Root Cause Problem Solving events (RCPS).
  • Act as a senior technical and training resource to other QI members. Mentor and Develop staff in data analysis and results presentation.

  • Leadership: able to lead and coach teams by giving clear feedback, coaching one‑on‑one, and helping people grow; prior people‑leader experience preferred.
  • Leading change and culture: experienced at guiding teams through transitions, promoting a growth mindset, and building a positive, accountable team culture that encourages learning and continuous improvement.
  • Property Claims Expertise: Possesses hands-on experience in property claims, with a working knowledge of claims processes, accuracy standards, and industry best practices that lends credibility when leading a quality-focused team.
  • Coaching Mindset: Approaches leadership with curiosity and humility, prioritizing the development of others through active listening, thoughtful questioning, and creating space for the team to contribute ideas and solutions.
  • Prioritization & Focus: Able to manage competing demands and help the team stay focused on the highest-impact work; comfortable partnering with leadership to align priorities and adjust course as organizational needs evolve.
  • Data Storytelling: Comfortable working with data at a foundational level: building trend charts, organizing findings, and shaping presentations that make insights easy to understand for any audience, regardless of their technical background.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training required plus minimum 5 - 7 years of progressively more responsible and related experience required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and analytical skills required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Claims department procedures required.
  • In depth knowledge of assigned product area, general insurance policy coverage and State Tort Law.
