This highly visible role reports to the VP of Financial Services, Strategic Partnerships Group.
The Strategic Partnerships Group (SPG) sits within US Retail Markets Distribution & Marketing and is responsible for delivering incremental, profitable growth through strategic third‑party relationships. SPG partners with a diverse set of organizations to generate high‑quality personal lines business for Liberty Mutual’s Direct channel, including through affinity marketing, embedded integrations, and appointed direct agency relationships. The team plays a critical role in Liberty Mutual’s omni‑channel distribution strategy by unlocking differentiated access to customers, driving mutually beneficial outcomes, and collaborating cross‑functionally across product, underwriting, analytics, technology, and operations to scale sustainable growth.
Job Responsibilities
- Own the sub-vertical growth strategy and operating model for a growing portfolio of Financial Services partners
- Translate partner objectives into multi-quarter roadmaps and governance (QBRs, steering committees, decision forums) that drive decisions and accountability.
- Lead and coach relationship managers in a matrixed environment, ensuring consistent account planning, executive communications, and delivery against partner commitments.
- Drive performance through analytical, data-backed leadership: assess penetration, conversion, retention, channel mix, and ROI/unit economics; identify root causes and prioritize actions.
- Orchestrate cross-functional delivery of initiatives spanning digital marketing, lifecycle/journey improvements, martech and measurement, and digital integrations—managing scope, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment.
- Serve as executive sponsor and trusted advisor to partners; build C-level relationships and lead executive-level reviews with executive-ready narratives/decks that clearly outline strategy, performance, risks, required decisions, and recommendations.
- Establish scalable best practices across the portfolio (testing/measurement standards, playbooks, partner communications, escalation paths) to improve speed-to-market and consistency.
- Manage escalations and partner health (integration issues, compensation changes, service gaps, performance shortfalls) with rapid resolution and retention focus.
- Lead new partner contracting and renewals through close collaboration with Legal/Compliance and Finance on deal terms and risk.
