Join our dynamic Workforce Planning (WFP) organization within US Retail Markets (USRM) Claims & Service Insights and Solutions, where your expertise will directly shape our Claims & Service operation. We provide strategic analysis, recommendations, and innovative solutions that influence everything from long-term claims forecasting and staffing to the everyday management of our internal and external resources. Your insights will ensure our Claims teams are equipped, empowered, and ready to deliver quality outcomes and exceptional service to millions of policyholders across the country.
About the Role:
We’re seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking leader for our Claims Capacity Planning team. In this critical role, you’ll drive analytics, forecasting, and resource strategies across all Claims lines of business. As a trusted advisor and thought partner to LOB leaders, you’ll impact decisions that affect Liberty Mutual’s ability to deliver high-quality, accurate claims outcomes, maintain operational excellence, and achieve target profitability.

- Drive Meaningful Insights: Leverage advanced analytics, forecasting, and data science to guide strategic decisions on staffing and resource management
- Set Priorities for Impact: Identify and champion work that delivers the greatest value to our business, promoting scalable solutions and continuous process improvement.
- Collaborate Across the Organization: Serve as a partner to Claims leaders, providing data-driven guidance and building consensus.
- Model Expense Discipline: Instill a disciplined approach to resource and cost management that strengthens our operational excellence and sustainability.

Ideal Candidate Experience Includes:
- A strategic thinker with advanced quantitative analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Deeply knowledgeable about the USRM Claims organization and passionate about driving positive change
- A proven people leader, adept at coaching, mentoring, and empowering teams to deliver results
- Skilled in building cross-functional relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Experienced in managing multiple initiatives, with a track record of delivering high-impact outcomes
- Analytically fluent and quality-driven, understands forecasting, capacity planning, and data science techniques at depth, and sets a high bar for quality across all team outputs, from peer Data Science collaborations to Excel-based staffing models
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field; Ph.D. helpful given quantitative work they are leading.
- Minimum 8, typically 10, years' experience; must have exceptional planning, analytical, decision-making and project management skills.
- Expert knowledge of data sources, tools and business drivers.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques required. Industry knowledge critical.
