Description
Responsible for completion of tax returns, financial reporting calculations, and deliverables related to key objective projects. Supervises, develops, and reviews performance of a group of tax staff. Interacts with senior management including CFO and VP of Corporate Taxation.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises assigned staff to ensure adherence to deadlines and policies.
- Provides direct feedback on performance and compensation issues.
- Provides training and developmental opportunities to motivate staff. Establishes goals and objectives to be achieved.
- Ensures timely and accurate filing of tax returns, including quarterly estimates.
- Recommends and implements processes that improve the efficiency and accuracy of compliance related activities.
- Assist with tax controversies, including responding to information requests anticipating future controversy issues and evaluating the impact of proposed adjustments on the Company's current and future operations.
- Responds to complex inquiries from SBUs and taxing authorities. Partners with SBUs and other Corporate Financial departments to ensure the accuracy of tax returns and financial statement balances.
- Develop general corporate tax technical expertise as well as specialized tax knowledge. Perform research and provide memoranda with supporting tax positions.
- Train and develop staff by managing participation in projects. Review work of staff, provide ongoing feedback on performance.
- Identifies, implements, and leads the implementation of special projects designed to create value and enhance the Company's worldwide tax position.
- Interviews tax staff candidates and provide hiring recommendations.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business (or a BS and equivalent tax and accounting experience)
- CPA preferred
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of taxation experience as well as prior experience leading projects
