USRM Solutions - Distribution is looking for a Senior Manager, Product Owner (SPO) to be focused within the Quoting Portfolio on developing and enhancing software product offerings that enable our Distribution experiences to quote and bind insurance products. The SPO will report directly to the Product Owner Director, Quoting Portfolio and lead a team of Product Owners and System Support Analysts within the USRM Experience & Strategy organization supporting agile squads.

The Quoting portfolio role will:

Own the vision, strategy, road mapping, and execution for Quoting teams supporting Distribution outcomes that align to the go-forward policy administration system (Frontier

PCUIP). Our purpose is to enable all our Distribution channels to quote, bind, and bundle all our insurance products across all our quoting experiences with ease, accuracy, and intelligence.

The SPO role:

Leads the portfolio to revolutionize the way USRM teams design, deliver, & support quoting platform capabilities that are reusable, reliable, and scalable. This includes not only a deep understanding of our insurance products, but also an equally deep appreciation for our unique Distribution channels, the personas they serve, and their business priorities. A strong strategic mindset and effective relationship building skills are keys to our success, with the SPO developing, defining, and driving the portfolio strategy in collaboration with the team and partners across USRM.

This leader will be responsible for:

  • Articulating and translating the overall business vision into strategy and direction and contributing to outcomes and key KPI’s tied directly to business objectives.
  • The SPO works closely with the portfolio's DPO and aligned channel leaders to define and prioritize the portfolio backlog, sets quality standards for delivery, and represents the capabilities which must be scalable, compliant, and performant.
  • Overseeing a set of products and working closely with IT leadership to ensure teams are appropriately resourced, focused on the key priorities, and have alignment between roadmaps to achieve objectives.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Sets ambitious and clear strategy, develops comprehensive portfolio vision, and translates into specific feature strategies and roadmaps.
  • Communicates effectively to key stakeholders and team members.
  • Knowledge of product offerings, business processes, Distribution and Product applications and services, underwriting rules, pricing plans and databases.
  • Owns alignment of development and business resources on goals and priorities while working with stakeholders and team to remove roadblocks to execution.
  • Responsible and accountable for assigned portfolio-level key performance indicators (KPI’s) and manages product and/or service with a medium-to-high degree of strategy, KPI, scope, complexity, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies as typically acquired through a Bachelors’ degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc.) and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in business, engineering, technology and/or consulting. Master’s degree preferred.
  • High level of proven business expertise needed to set clear priorities for product and understand business value impacts.
  • Technical proficiency required to oversee quarterly & sprint planning and to have an informed, independent voice.
  • Strong influencing skills to be seen as the decision maker when interfacing with business, and willingness to dissent with both teams and business.
  • Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders through strong leadership skills
  • Ability to coach and inspire both direct reports and matrixed teams
  • Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty in a fast-paced working environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to convey information clearly and concisely
