Description

We’re looking for a Product Owner to join the USRM Frontier policy migration team and help modernize Personal Lines insurance by migrating policy capabilities to our new PolicyCenter platform. In this high-impact role, you’ll work at the intersection of business, operations, and technology—owning the roadmap and backlog, translating stakeholder needs into clear, delivery-ready work for an Agile squad, and driving alignment to deliver measurable migration outcomes across the portfolio.

Core responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders to shape the product vision and priorities; communicate direction and decisions to the squad and key partners.
  • Own the product backlog—prioritize work, write clear user stories, and define acceptance criteria.
  • Define and track product outcomes, contributing to assigned KPIs for products of varying scope and complexity.
  • Lead prioritization for quarterly/PI planning; align stakeholders on scope, timelines, and expectations.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, standups, demos, retrospectives) to maintain transparency and delivery momentum.
  • Work day-to-day with the squad(s) to clarify requirements, remove roadblocks, and keep delivery aligned to product strategy.
  • Maintain a product roadmap based on strategy and stakeholder input; communicate expected value by iteration and adjust as capacity or priorities change.
  • Evaluate feasibility, trade-offs, and cost of delay for change requests to inform sequencing and investment decisions.
  • Incorporate regulatory, compliance, and industry constraints into prioritization; coordinate with peer squads to align portfolio priorities.
  • Monitor product health and viability, balance near-term delivery with long-term efficiency and cost.
  • Support customer-driven design and usability testing; use market and industry insights to strengthen product positioning.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Translate business intent into delivery-ready user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Demonstrate strong product judgment—prioritize work, align stakeholders to outcomes, and make clear trade-offs.
  • Bring Personal Lines insurance knowledge (preferred) and connect decisions to underwriting, rating, and servicing impacts.
  • Operate effectively in ambiguity and shifting priorities; communicate proactively, build trust across business and technology teams, and push work through obstacles.
  • Guidewire PolicyCenter and policy data migration experience are a plus but not required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities, etc.) and a minimum of 2 to 4 years direct experience with agile teams as well as 5 years in business, technology or consulting.
  • Able to depict complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate on business vision and plan and the impact of change.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to make difficult and quick decisions daily.
  • Problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solutions and progress.
  • Proven experience with Agile practices and expectations
  • Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant products and portfolio preferred.
  • Experimental mindset to drive innovation amongst uncertainty.

Employees may apply for a new role after completing 12 months of employment in their current position.
