Description
At Liberty, our Personal Lines Auto Product team partners across the company to build and roll out auto insurance solutions that keep pace with what customers and agents need. We focus exclusively on auto, bringing deep expertise, data and analytics to deliver strong state-by-state results while modernizing how we price policies and the technology that supports them. Organized around four core areas—Delivery & Development, Underwriting Effectiveness, State Management, and Mobility Solutions—we work collaboratively to live our purpose: helping people embrace today and confidently pursue tomorrow.
We are seeking a Director, Auto Product Design to lead a team focused on optimizing the end-to-end auto product experience, with a strong emphasis on NB growth and retention. This role is responsible for guiding a team of analysts who generate insights and shape experience enhancements across multi-channel quote, bind, and servicing interactions (e.g., rewrites, endorsements.)
This leader will oversee the auto experience optimization portfolio, translating customer behavior, market dynamics, and performance analytics into actionable recommendations that strengthen customer engagement, improve persistency, and drive lifetime value. The role partners closely with Data Science, Risk Analytics, Underwriting, Technology, Distribution, Claims, and Service teams to design and implement capabilities that deliver a more seamless, personalized, and effective customer experience across the policy lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners across USRM to evaluate, test and implement quote flow enhancements that move us toward achieving each channel strategy.
- Optimize consumption of prefill data to ensure optimal experience in our quote flow to improve throughput and reduce expenses
- Operationalize risk classification into quoting experience by designing interview questions wording and flow that's tailored to each channel to minimize friction and risk misclassification
- Own logic governing how midterm or renewal transactions are executed to reduce premium leakage and improve retention (e.g., rewrites, rescores, sensitive life events such as Bereavement endorsement)
- Lead and develop a team of analysts and product specialists, ensuring strong analytical rigor, competitive intelligence, and product insight.
We are looking for a candidate who is:
- Intellectually curious - excited to solve complex problems and identify new opportunities
- Analytical and technical - able to gather, interpret, and evaluate data across multiple sources; proficient in SAS/Snowflake
- Self-driven with strong organizational skills and proactive follow through
- Collaborative and engaged in contributing to a dynamic and inclusive team culture
- Able to communicate clearly and partner with stakeholders across multiple teams
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in personal lines insurance, preferably auto product management, product development, or strategy.
- Knowledge of auto insurance product pricing and coverages
- Strong analytical background with experience using data and market insights to inform product decisions
- Experience collaborating with technology teams to develop business requirements for new capabilities or products
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring analysts
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
