Description
The Strategic Partnerships Group (SPG) sits within US Retail Markets Distribution & Marketing and is responsible for delivering incremental, profitable growth through strategic third‑party relationships. SPG partners with a diverse set of organizations to generate high‑quality personal lines business for Liberty Mutual’s Direct channel, including through affinity marketing, embedded integrations, and appointed direct agency relationships. The team plays a critical role in Liberty Mutual’s omni‑channel distribution strategy by unlocking differentiated access to customers, driving mutually beneficial outcomes, and collaborating cross‑functionally across product, underwriting, analytics, technology, and operations to scale sustainable growth.
As a member of the National Partnerships Business Development team within the U.S. Retail Markets Strategic Partnerships Group, your primary responsibilities will focus on interfacing externally with Partnership Technology (ParTech) firms – platforms that enable one-to-many partnership solutions across Strategic Partnership verticals across personal lines, small commercial lines, and life insurance. This will includeownership of the holistic relationship with ParTech partners – including contracting, negotiating compensation terms and deal economics, campaign set up and execution, ensuring data attribution and accurate reporting, and owning business development with each ParTech partner. Beyond external partner management, you will be responsible for engaging with stakeholders across the business unit to ensure strategic alignment, opportunity size and prioritization of key prospects and business models when sourcing new distribution partnerships via these firms. You will interact with senior leadership of ParTech firms regularly as well as their marquee, top clients with a variety of business models across various industries, attend industry exhibitions, and be the face, voice, and brand ambassador for Liberty Mutual to this growing and increasingly important industry.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, engage, build, and grow business development pipelines with with ParTech partners aligned with business and financial objectives.
- Develop a strategic, templatized go-to-market approach with each ParTech partner. Set the partnership vision and strategy.
- Organize and lead recurring partnership touch points, both virtually and face to face, to ensure Liberty Mutual remains a priority with the partner(s), with mutually aligned goals, and we are executing on our shared partnership strategy to deliver profitable, incremental growth for Liberty Mutual.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of competitors product lines, go-to-market partnership strategies, and market trends thereby enabling effective negotiations with a variety of ParTech partners and their clients.
- Work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment at Liberty. Build things from 0 to 1 in a scrappy way.
- Prepares and presents executive presentations for both internal & external stakeholders to ensure alignment around pursuit and business terms for potential new partners.
- Evangelize our vision for the future of insurance distribution & marketing by helping to shape the way that millions of people buy insurance in the U.S.
Qualifications
- Bachelor`s degree or equivalent training; MBA preferred
- 7 or more years of progressively more responsible sales, marketing or relationship management experience in a complex environment
- Requires in depth knowledge of the company's services, products and marketing techniques, insurance contracts, agency operations, funding and rating
- Requires highly effective oral and written communication skills including presentation, persuasion, relationship management, timing, tact and negotiating skills
- Requires strong networking and problem-solving skills
- Analytic and financial analysis competencies
- Demonstrated computer skills
- Must be able to accommodate up to 25 percent travel
