Description

Hiring Manager: Michael Standarski

We’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join the Public Cloud Developer Experience & AI Enablement team. This is a newly established team with a unique opportunity to help shape its direction, define foundational capabilities, and influence how AI-enabled development and operations are adopted across our cloud ecosystem.

This role is well suited for an engineer who enjoys building in ambiguous spaces, working across platforms and stakeholders, and helping create the technical foundation for secure, scalable enterprise adoption of emerging AI capabilities.

About This Opportunity

The Public Cloud Developer Experience & AI Enablement team is focused on establishing the foundational capabilities required to responsibly adopt, scale, and operationalize agentic AI across our cloud ecosystem.

Key areas of focus include:

• Evaluating and enabling emerging cloud-native agentic capabilities

• Implementing critical identity and access prerequisites, including AWS Identity Center

• Advancing a secure AI backbone through services such as Bedrock AgentCore, MCP integrations, and policy-as-code enforcement

• Developing shared enablement capabilities that support governance, policy validation, IAM/SCP simplification, observability, FinOps alignment, marketplace enablement, and cross-cloud operational tooling

• Helping ensure agentic AI can be adopted consistently, safely, and at enterprise scale across AWS, Azure, and GCP

Because this team is newly stood up, this engineer will have significant opportunity to help define processes, shape technical direction, and build foundational capabilities from the ground up.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Eight or more years of software engineering experience
  • Experience working in public cloud environments, especially AWS; Azure familiarity is also helpful
  • Knowledge of cloud identity and access management concepts, including enterprise federation and role-based access patterns
  • Exposure to AI platform capabilities, LLM enablement patterns, or emerging agentic AI services
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries and help bring structure to an emerging space
  • Strong communication skills and comfort operating in a highly collaborative environment
  • Proficient in Python and Java Ideal Candidate Profile

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • The ideal candidate is someone who is excited by the opportunity to help stand up a new team and define its early impact. They should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, learning emerging technologies quickly, and translating broad strategic goals into practical engineering outcomes. This person should also be able to work actively across teams and help balance innovation with enterprise security, governance, and operational needs.

Education

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience

Employees may apply for a new role after completing 12 months of employment in their current position.
