Description
Role Summary:
North America Programs has been tasked with scaling from approximately $200M to $1B in GWP by 2030. The Head of Bordereaux & Reporting is a key leadership role responsible for building and scaling the bordereaux, reporting, and data capabilities required to support that growth across a rapidly expanding delegated authority portfolio, as well as select delegated authority business supported across other profit centers.
The role owns the end-to-end bordereaux operating model for North America Programs & Delegated Authority, including onboarding, ingestion, validation, reconciliation, governance, and reporting. The position is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and scalable data delivery across underwriting, finance, claims, actuarial, compliance, and reinsurance functions while establishing the operational standards, controls, and reporting capabilities required to support significant portfolio growth.
In addition to bordereaux oversight, the role is responsible for ensuring all broader program data requirements within Liberty systems are captured accurately and consistently, including seamless coordination with the NA Data & Analytics Office to support enterprise reporting, operational reporting, management information, and downstream data needs across the business.
The role partners closely with Operations, Underwriting, Finance, Claims, Actuarial, Compliance, Transaction Accounting, the NA Data & Analytics Office, and Liberty International Insurance’s London operations to align bordereaux standards, governance, platform capabilities, reporting requirements, and global operating models.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end bordereaux operating model across North America Programs, as well as select delegated authority business supported across other profit centers, including intake, validation, reconciliation, exception management, and reporting
- Serve as the primary North America point of contact and subject matter expert for the London Bordereaux Operations team, ensuring the operating model, service levels, controls, and workflows are effective and scalable for both organizations
- Ensure timely, accurate, and reliable delivery of bordereaux data to downstream stakeholders across Finance, Claims, Actuarial, Compliance, Reinsurance, Transaction Accounting, and Operations
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing operational team (3-4 FTEs + offshore resources) capable of supporting a rapidly scaling delegated authority portfolio
- Establish scalable operating procedures, controls, governance routines, and service standards across bordereaux, reconciliation, and reporting operations
Bordereaux Standards, Governance & Data Management
- Define and maintain bordereaux standards, templates, mappings, and data governance requirements across MGA and TPA partners in partnership with London Bordereaux Operations team
- Oversee schema governance and coordinate data requirement changes across internal stakeholders, partners, and Liberty systems
- Ensure all program data requirements — including data outside of bordereaux files — are captured accurately within Liberty systems and aligned to enterprise reporting and downstream business needs
- Serve as primary business lead and point of contact for the NA Data & Analytics Office, defining and prioritizing reporting and data requirements for North America Programs
Onboarding, Integrations & DDM Platform Management
- Lead bordereaux onboarding and integration activities for new MGA and TPA partners, including mapping, testing, validation, and operational readiness
- Coordinate closely with London Bordereaux Operations and Data Office teams to ensure efficient onboarding, issue resolution, and operational execution
- Serve as the primary North America business lead for delegated data management (DDM) and related bordereaux platforms, representing North America Programs’ operational, reporting, and data requirements and partnering with London Bordereaux Operations on SLA oversight, issue escalation, platform enhancements, and operational performance
Data Quality, Controls & Reconciliation
- Oversee bordereaux validation, reconciliation, and control processes to ensure accurate, complete, and timely data across North America Programs
- Lead remediation of recurring data and operational issues across MGA and TPA partners, internal stakeholders, and London Bordereaux Operations teams
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Reinsurance teams to support reconciliations, financial reporting, month-end close, audit readiness, and ceded reporting
Reporting & Operational Insights
- Lead business ownership and governance of reporting, management information, KPI tracking, dashboards, reconciliations, and portfolio insights for North America Programs
- Partner with business stakeholders and the NA Data & Analytics Office to define, prioritize, and deliver reporting and data requirements across North America Programs
Continuous Improvement & Scale Enablement
- Lead automation and process improvement initiatives to improve scalability, data quality, and operational efficiency
- Establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, governance routines, and service standards across bordereaux and reporting operations
- Identify opportunities to improve the operating model across North America Programs, London Bordereaux Operations, and external partners
The selected candidate should live within 50 miles of our Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; New York, NY; or Atlanta, GA office to be able to come into the office two days per week.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in insurance bordereaux operations, delegated authority operations, insurance data management, or related operational roles, preferably supporting MGA/TPA partnerships.
- Strong understanding of bordereaux structures, data flows, reconciliation processes, and operational reporting across premium, claims, commissions, and ceded/reinsurance data
- Experience managing bordereaux onboarding, integrations, data validation, and operational coordination across underwriting, finance, actuarial, claims, and reinsurance teams
- Demonstrated ability to drive data quality, operational controls, reporting, and process improvement initiatives within a scalable operating environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using reporting, dashboarding, and data management tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, or equivalent)
- Comfort operating in a matrixed, cross-border environment and collaborating routinely with a London-based team; willingness to travel internationally on occasion
- Leadership experience managing vendors and/or small teams is a plus
