Description

Hiring Manager: Sarah Luthey

The Principal Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for supporting the execution and ongoing maintenance of governance deliverables for the Evergreen Claims program in GRS North America, coordinating decision inputs and follow-up across business and technical stakeholders, and identifying opportunities to further embed governance activities into the program’s BAU operating model.

This role will work closely with the Evergreen Data Lead and is accountable for governance execution, coordination, documentation, and follow-through; governance strategy, prioritization, and final decision ownership remain with program and data leadership.

This role requires an individual contributor who is self-organized and able to work across both tactical execution and evolving program needs: translating governance priorities into structured work products, surfacing blockers, and ensuring follow-through. Success in the role will be measured by improved ownership clarity, stronger data quality discipline, better documentation and lineage, increased downstream usability, and reduced delivery and operational risk.

Governance strategy, prioritization, and decision ownership remain with program and data leadership; this role is focused on execution, coordination, documentation, and follow-through.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support execution of the program’s data governance workstream

• Support execution and continuous improvement of the program’s existing governance workstream and processes, including data change management

• Improve the consistency and readiness of governance artifacts across workstreams

• Coordinate governance routines, decision forums, escalation paths, and reporting

• Track governance priorities and deliverables aligned to program milestones, including stabilization and conversion

• Coordinate issue tracking, decision follow-up, and escalation across functional teams

2. Document and support governance of critical data

• Support prioritization, definition, and documentation of critical data elements

• Partner with business and technical teams to document quality rules, thresholds, and evidence requirements within the agile requirement structure

• Support implementation and follow-through of quality monitoring, remediation, and escalation processes

3. Support ownership and stewardship alignment

• Partner with the GRS Data Governance team to clarify and document data ownership and stewardship roles across business and operational teams

• Support product owners, BAs, SMEs, and stewards in understanding and carrying out their governance responsibilities

• Help document and reinforce governance accountability beyond the initial release

• Contribute analysis and documentation to support definition of post-program data governance personnel and process needs

4. Complete and mature governance documentation

• Coordinate completion of the business glossary and data dictionary

• Ensure documentation is accurate, review-ready, and consumable for downstream users

• Improve continuity across definitions, valid values, mappings, and business usage

• Create and maintain a sustainable approach for governance documentation and upkeep

5. Coordinate lineage documentation for key data and reporting

• Coordinate documentation of lineage for key data elements and metrics from legacy sources through conversion, target state, and downstream reporting

• Support prioritization of lineage documentation where it most affects reporting, reconciliation, operations, and release readiness

• Help address current lineage limitations through a pragmatic and phased approach

6. Support release, stabilization, and conversion readiness

• Help ensure governance needs are integrated into the stabilization phase beginning in Q4 2026

• Support release readiness for the first major release in Q2 2027

• Partner with conversion teams to support mapping validation, traceability, reconciliation, and issue resolution for the first conversion release

• Help identify and mitigate data-related risks before they become release issues

7. Support governance roadmap planning and continuous improvement

• Identify process, tooling, and operating model improvement opportunities

• Provide recommendations to strengthen governance maturity over time

• Contribute inputs and documentation to support a repeatable governance capability that can be leveraged by other programs

• Support definition of inception epics and backlog items intended to advance governance capabilities

Note that the role will be fully dedicated to the Evergreen program for at least 2 years; the ideal candidate will be committed to the role for at least that duration.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years experience ideally in a data-focused role within Claims business

• Data Governance background/experience

• Organization & project management

• Strong analytical, organizational, and execution mindset

• Self-motivated with strong follow-through and ability to work independently with minimal direction

• Understands technical concepts and can connect them to business requirements/impact

• Strong documentation, coordination, and stakeholder follow-up skills

• Ability to translate governance needs into clear, usable artifacts and action tracking
