USRM SC Product Solutions is seeking a trusted and strategic Director Product Owner to lead a high-impact portfolio across Risk Pricing and Portfolio Product Owners. Operating at the intersection of business and technology, this highly visible role will translate SC’s broader vision and profit goals into clear strategies, prioritized work, quality implementations and measurable outcomes directly shaping the future of SC.

What You'll Own

  • Risk Pricing: Own and manage the SC Risk Pricing software product delivering near-term critical pricing updates while strategically leading the modernization efforts to drive success in the long term.

  • Multi-Squad Leadership: Lead five talented PO’s and squads supporting SC Risk Pricing ensuring alignment, coherence, quality and consistent execution across teams, as well as with PL where applicable.

  • Portfolio Product Owner Leadership: Lead three exceptional Portfolio Product Owners who are responsible for the technical implementation of SC Insurance Products across all portfolios.

  • Cross LOB/Cross Platform Strategies: Understand all investments being delivered within and across Small Commercial, utilizing this knowledge to ensure the most effective and efficient delivery by connecting dots and prioritizing collectively in support of our strategic vision.

  • AI Implementation: Implement AI solutions across Risk Pricing and Portfolio Product Ownership by embedding AI into how these areas work driving measurable improvements.

  • Stakeholder Partnership: Partner closely with USDS, Product Delivery, Distribution, Claims, Service, Corporate Finance and other stakeholders to deeply understand their impacts upon our deliveries at the portfolio level, remove portfolio roadblocks and lead clear portfolio tradeoff discussions when necessary.

  • SC Product Solutions Leadership Team: Be a strategic thought partner across the Product Solutions leadership team helping to continuously improve our department.

Responsibilities

  • Refine, influence, and, where appropriate, define product role strategy; develop a comprehensive product vision; and translate that vision into feature strategies and roadmaps.

  • Communicate the product vision effectively to key stakeholders, team members, and senior management.

  • Remain accountable for impacts on business results related to SC investments, using relevant KPIs to measure outcomes and inform recommendations.

  • Work closely with IT and Business partners to ensure resource alignment in support of the product vision and roadmap.

  • Own alignment across development and business resources on goals and priorities, while partnering with stakeholders and teams to remove roadblocks, manage escalations and lead tradeoff discussions needed for execution.

  • Manage delivery of scope across value streams, partnering with delivery teams to ensure user stories are clear and open issues or questions are resolved quickly and efficiently.

  • Directly manage a team of Product Owners and Portfolio Product Owners responsible for all aspects of pricing and Insurance Product implementation.

  • Provide feedback, support and coaching in partnership with leadership teams.

  • Coach and mentor IT and Business Unit partners on product vision and product roles.

  • Lead analysis of feasibility, cost ramifications, economies, and other considerations for planned or potential programs.

  • Maintains knowledge of the industry, marketplace, and competitive landscape external to Liberty, and apply that to product strategy ensuring customer-driven design considering user pain points.

  • Proven track record of delivering value on large, cross functional initiatives

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge product management, Agile development methodologies, and experience in organizational change management as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc)and a minimum of 10 years` experience in product development, business, marketing, technology, and/or consulting
  • Master`s degree preferred
  • High level of proven business expertise needed to set clear priorities for product and understand business value impacts across an entire business unit
  • High level of proven outcomes managing and mentoring product managers, product owners, and people leaders
  • Technical proficiency required to participate in program increment planning and have an informed, independent voice
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills in order to be seen as the decision maker when interfacing with business, and willingness to dissent with both teams and business
  • Proven experience with Agile practices and expectations
  • Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal
  • Encourages non-hierarchical culture
