Summary

The PP&B Digital Employee Experience (DEX) team is looking for a Product Owner III to drive strategy, product execution and roadmap setting for Liberty Mutual's Talent Technology ecosystem. This role will serve as the primary Product Owner for the Eightfold AI platform — inclusive of Talent Acquisition and skills intelligence capabilities that will shape how Liberty identifies, develops and mobilizes — as well as iCIMS, Liberty's Applicant Tracking System.

As an individual contributor and voice of the customer, the Product Owner III will partner closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, Data, Business and Technology stakeholders to ensure the squad is focused on the highest-value work — delivering meaningful, user-centered experiences that support Liberty's talent strategy and 2030 goals.

Responsibilities

Product Vision & Backlog Ownership

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Eightfold and iCIMS platforms, including Talent Acquisition workflows and Career Hub capabilities, to effectively represent user needs and business priorities
  • Own and maintain a well-groomed, prioritized product backlog with clear, actionable user stories that are ready for squad execution
  • Translate business objectives and stakeholder needs into defined requirements, acceptance criteria, and sprint-ready stories
  • Develop and maintain a clear, multi-year product roadmap, balancing near-term delivery priorities with longer-term strategic capabilities; regularly communicate roadmap progress and evolution to stakeholders and leadership

Squad Engagement & Agile Ceremonies

  • Serve as the primary product interface for the squad on a day-to-day basis — clarifying requirements, removing blockers, and maintaining alignment around product strategy
  • Actively participate in all agile ceremonies including sprint planning, squad demos, retrospectives, and quarterly (PI) planning
  • Ensure squad priorities align with program goals and contribute to portfolio-level planning as needed

Customer-Centric Design & Insights

  • Act as the voice of the customer, partnering with UX and HR teams to incorporate user feedback, usability testing, and platform data into product decisions
  • Champion a positive, intuitive experience across the Eightfold platform (Talent Acquisition & Career Hub) Assessment Vendors (SHL, Codesignals/Codility), iCIMS and Hiring Manager Portal for candidates, employees, people leaders, and recruiters

Product Health & Reporting

  • Monitor and maintain overall product health across Eightfold and iCIMS; proactively identify risks, gaps, or opportunities for improvement
  • Track and report on product KPIs, tying squad activity to measurable outcomes
  • Maintain JIRA hygiene including backlog accuracy, story statuses, and sprint health

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in cross-team retrospectives and share lessons learned to drive best practices
  • Stay current on Eightfold, iCIMS, and broader talent technology market trends to bring informed recommendations to the team

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies as typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Computer Science, Humanities, etc.) and 5–7 years of experience in business, technology, or consulting, with direct experience working on agile teams
  • Prior experience as a Product Owner is highly preferred; experience with HR technology, talent acquisition platforms, or skills-based talent tools is a strong plus
  • Proven ability to own and manage a product backlog, write clear user stories, and drive sprint execution
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate across business and technology teams
  • Customer-focused mindset with experience incorporating user feedback and usability insights into product decisions
  • Comfortable making decisions with some level of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of platforms such as Eightfold AI, iCIMS, or similar ATS/talent intelligence tools preferred
