Locations: Boston MA or Portsmouth NH. This role will follow a hybrid schedule, coming into the office two days per week.

Summary
As a Benefits Consultant, manage and optimize assigned health, well-being, and employee benefit programs through effective vendor management, program administration, project leadership, and stakeholder partnership. Serve as a primary relationship manager for assigned vendors, consultants, brokers, and carriers, ensuring strong program performance, operational excellence, service delivery, and a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Working independently and in partnership with cross-functional teams, lead and support complex projects and strategic initiatives.
- Support program implementations, RFPs, vendor transitions, process improvements, employee engagement efforts, compliance activities, and program enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Human Resources, Procurement, Legal, Payroll, Communications, Employee Resource Groups, and other business functions.
Align benefit programs with organizational objectives and employee needs.
- Partner with external consultants, brokers, carriers, and vendor partners to evaluate market trends and identify opportunities.
- Address complex operational and service issues and develop recommendations that enhance program effectiveness, operational efficiency, and employee experience.
- Utilize data, industry insights, and best practices to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement across health and well-being programs.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of relevant and progressive experience in benefits or related experience, including knowledge of health, well-being and welfare and/or retirement programs.
- Strong project management skills with experience leading complex initiatives.
- Strong vendor management skills, including performance management, issue resolution, and service delivery oversight.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and insights to develop recommendations and support decision-making.
- Strong written and verbal communication required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business applications.
- Knowledge of benefits-related regulations and compliance requirements, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent 5-7 years of relevant and progressive experience in benefits, including general and advanced knowledge of health and welfare and/or retirement programs and systems, advanced degree and/or designation preferred.
