Want to directly shape the future of Small Commercial? USRM SC Product Solutions is seeking a trusted, strategic Portfolio Product Owner to lead the technology strategy and execution for two of our most critical lines of business: Umbrella and Farm. Operating at the intersection of business and technology, this highly visible role will translate SC’s broader product vision into clear strategies, prioritized work, high-quality implementations, and measurable outcomes.

What You'll Own

  • Solutions Responsibility for Umbrella and Farm: As part of the Solutions, Product Delivery, and Technology trio, you will own the technology strategy and execution for Umbrella and Farm across the full value stream. This includes Umbrella and Farm implementations in eCLIQ 2.0, along with all related enhancements, defects, and mandatory or compliance-driven work.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with Product Delivery, LOB Management, Experience Research and Design, USDS, Distribution, Claims, Service, Corporate Finance, and other stakeholders to understand how investment deliverables affect their areas, remove roadblocks, and lead clear tradeoff discussions when needed.
  • AI Implementation: Along with the other SC solutions PPO’s, further develop the adoption of AI within your discipline and embed AI into Umbrella and Farm delivery practices to improve efficiency, quality, and measurable investment outcomes.
  • SC Product Solutions PPO Leadership Team: Serve as a strategic thought partner on the Product Solutions PPO leadership team, helping shape priorities, strengthen Portfolio Product Owner practices, and continuously improve the effectiveness of this role and our broader department.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of the industry, marketplace, and competitive landscape, and apply those insights to customer-driven product strategy and design.
  • Refine, influence, and, where appropriate, define product strategy; develop a comprehensive product vision; and translate that vision into feature strategies and roadmaps.
  • Communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap clearly to key stakeholders, all value stream team members, and senior management.
  • Partner with IT and Business stakeholders to assess the feasibility, costs, tradeoffs, and broader implications of planned or potential programs.
  • Escalate solutions and technology resources gaps across the value stream needed to support the product vision and roadmap.
  • Manage delivery of scope across value streams, partnering with delivery teams to ensure user stories are clear and open issues or questions are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Remove roadblocks, manage escalations, and lead tradeoff discussions needed to support successful execution.
  • Monitor business results related to Small Commercial investments, using relevant KPIs to measure outcomes and inform recommendations.
  • Provide feedback, support, and coaching to investment team members throughout delivery.
  • Coach and mentor PO, technology and business partners on the product vision, product practices, and role expectations.

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong knowledge of SC insurance products
  • Proven track record of delivering outcomes into market on large, cross functional initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and foster a #OneTeam culture

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies as typically acquired through a Bachelor`s s’ degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities etc.) and a minimum of 10 years direct experience with Agile teams as well as 7 years in business, technology, or consulting
  • Master`s degree preferred
  • High level of proven business expertise needed to set clear priorities for product and understand business value impacts
  • Develop strong stakeholder relationships and influencing across multiple organizational boundaries
  • Demonstrated experience leading varied audiences through the development of complex ideas, issues and designs
  • Ability to lead varied audiences through census building
  • Technical proficiency required to participate in sprint planning and have an informed, independent voice
  • Strong influencing skills
