Description

This is a net new role within the USRM Results & Insights Data Solutions team created to lead the data and technical delivery of NextGen Actuals, a newly kickstarted initiative within USRM Finance focused on enabling the most granular P&L data possible, while eliminating reliance on allocations and cross subsidization, wherever feasible. As the Data Solutions lead for this workstream, this role will own the data architecture, solution design, and technical execution of the project, in close partnership with a peer role on the Results & Insights State Enablement team (posted separately), who will lead the business direction and day-to-day execution of the effort. This role will also provide a holistic view of impacts on parallel workstreams such as OneGL and Frontier, and assist in communication and requirements building with upstream teams.

This position is being posted at a Gr. 16/17 level and the final grade will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and prior experience at manager discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end data architecture, solution design, and technical delivery of the NextGen Actuals workstream, advancing priority items through Identification, Research, Solutioning, and Build
  • Partner closely with the State Enablement peer role to align on prioritization, technical feasibility, and sequencing across the project's opportunity backlog
  • Assess the technical feasibility of data granularity opportunities across P&L accounts, evaluating source-system capabilities, data availability, and integration paths in partnership with upstream data providers and enterprise data platform teams
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, and serve as the primary technical liaison between the NextGen Actuals workstream and upstream teams, source-system owners, and non-technical finance partners
  • Design and deliver data solutions end-to-end — from sourcing and transformation through reporting and consumption — leveraging SAP general ledger data, enterprise data platforms, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Maintain a holistic view of cross-system data flows and dependencies, ensuring NextGen Actuals requirements are represented in the roadmaps of parallel enterprise initiatives such as OneGL and Frontier to avoid duplicative or throw-away work
  • Support recurring communication of project status, technical risks, and resourcing needs to senior USRM Finance leadership in partnership with the State Enablement lead
  • Serve as an individual contributor for the time being; as project scope evolves, this role will have the opportunity to influence future hiring decisions and help shape the team's growth
  • Challenge the status quo and champion process improvement opportunities, including automation and AI-driven solutions, to accelerate progress toward more granular, accurate reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required (Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Computer Science, or related field). Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance data, financial systems, or analytics roles.

Strong technical toolkit; experience with SAP general ledger data, enterprise data platforms, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI) strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated understanding of cross-system data flows and dependencies, with the ability to assess how changes in one workstream impact parallel enterprise initiatives (e.g., ledger transformations, data platform migrations).
  • Experience gathering and translating business requirements into technical specifications, and communicating effectively with upstream data providers, source-system owners, and non-technical finance partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver data solutions end-to-end in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changing conditions and ambiguity to achieve results.
