Description
AI Transformation & Strategy exists to make AI a practical, embedded capability across Global Legal & Compliance, not an experiment on the side, but a core part of how we work, deliver, and create value for the enterprise. This pillar drives GL&C's ability to responsibly adopt, scale, and govern AI and emerging technologies in service of our 2030 vision: to serve as both a protector of the enterprise and an accelerator of Liberty Mutual's ability to win in the markets where we compete.
This AI Transformation and Strategy role sits within the GL&C Data Office under Strategy, Intelligence & Integration, connecting AI strategy directly to data governance, analytics, product management, and knowledge management so that our AI investments are grounded in trusted data, aligned to GL&C priorities, and built to compound over time.
AI Transformation & Strategy is accountable for:
- Defining and maintaining GL&C's AI strategy — a clear, prioritized roadmap that connects AI investments to the work evolution decision engine, GL&C practice group (PG) needs, and the productivity savings glidepath
- Evaluating and advancing AI tools for deployment with rigor and speed
- Embedding AI into how GL&C works – moving AI from isolated experiments to standard practice across every role to integrate AI into delivery models
- Governing AI adoption responsibly – establishing the guardrails, quality standards, and risk management frameworks
- Building AI fluency across GL&C – partnering with the GL&C Learning & Development team; and
- Connecting GL&C to the enterprise AI ecosystem
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Senior Program Manager, AI Transformation & Strategy, include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Managing the AI tool evaluation and piloting pipeline — coordinating the day-to-day process for identifying, vetting, piloting, and scaling GenAI and agentic AI tools, including vendor touchpoints, proof-of-concept logistics, and business case documentation, in support of the AI Transformation Lead's roadmap priorities
- Managing pilot execution and impact tracking — running individual AI pilots end-to-end, including scoping, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination, and tracking adoption, quality, and impact metrics at each stage to inform decisions on scaling to production
- Supporting practice group AI integration — partnering with practice groups to help build and maintain tailored AI integration plans, gathering workflow and use-case input, and serving as a day-to-day point of contact on AI tools and pilots
- Coordinating AI governance administration — supporting execution of GL&C's internal AI governance framework by maintaining intake and tracking processes, coordinating risk and quality reviews, and helping ensure pilots and deployed tools meet established guardrails and standards
- Supporting AI fluency program delivery — coordinating with GL&C Learning & Development on the logistics and delivery of AI training and enablement resources, and tracking completion and competency metrics across GL&C
- Managing cross-functional dependencies and risks — identifying interdependencies, resource needs, and timeline or budget risks across active AI initiatives, and escalating issues to the Data Officer and/or AI Transformation Lead and other stakeholders as needed
- Maintaining the GL&C AI knowledge base — keeping documentation, playbooks, and templates for AI tool evaluation, piloting, and governance current and accessible to practice groups and Data Office peers

This role requires someone who can execute with rigor and pace, who is equally comfortable running a detailed pilot plan and translating AI capabilities into terms a practice group leader can act on. The ability to coordinate across a wide range of stakeholders will be critical to success in the role.
Required Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in AI/technology program or project management, digital transformation, legal technology, or a related field — with a track record of managing pilots from concept to production
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and vet emerging technologies against clear criteria — separating real potential from noise
- Experience supporting or administering governance, risk, or quality-control processes, including intake, tracking, and reporting
- Strong coordination and relationship-building skills — the ability to work effectively with practice group stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors
- Experience managing multiple pilots or projects concurrently, including scoping, scheduling, and status reporting
- Excellent communication skills — the ability to translate AI concepts and pilot results into clear, actionable updates for business and technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in legal operations, legal technology, or professional services environments
- Familiarity with the insurance industry, regulatory environments, or enterprise risk management
- Hands-on experience with generative AI tools, large language models, or agentic AI architectures
- Experience working within or alongside a Data Office, analytics function, or enterprise technology organization
- Understanding of legal service delivery models, including in-house legal departments, managed legal services, and legal process outsourcing
