Description

Our Property & Specialty (P&S) Product Development and Experience team is hiring a Director II to lead our Coverage A team and ensure customers have the right coverage at every stage of their policy.

Coverage A (dwelling coverage) is central to how we protect our policyholders' homes. This team owns Coverage A determination and experience across every channel and transaction type, from dwelling feature collection in the quoting application, to third-party vendor Replacement Cost Estimate (RCE) calculations, the Cost Guide, and beyond.

In this high-visibility, high-impact role, you'll lead a team of four analysts who serve as the organization's subject-matter experts on RCEs, the Cost Guide, and Coverage A. You'll own the Coverage A portfolio end to end, proactively identifying opportunities to improve the Coverage A determination experience over the life of the policy, driving clear prioritization, and advancing tactical and strategic initiatives concurrently to deliver outcomes for customers and support profitable growth across P&S. The responsibilities of this team may continue to evolve.

Please note: This role may have in-office requirements depending on your location.

We are seeking candidates who are:

  • Strong owners, prioritizers, and project leaders – Highly organized and able to drive tactical execution of critical projects and progress on strategic initiatives in parallel.
  • Curious, creative problem-solvers – Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving problems without a clear roadmap, bringing an innovative mindset to complex challenges.
  • Analytically rigorous – Attentive to detail and skilled at conducting and guiding granular analyses and at pressure-testing potential solutions.
  • Influential cross-functional leaders – Able to build alignment and drive buy-in across leaders and functions, without direct authority.
  • Effective communicators – Clear, concise, and transparent, tailoring the message to the audience and intentional about ensuring the right people have the right information at the right time.
  • Developers of talent – Committed to coaching, developing, and engaging their team, and to fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on the P&S Cost Guide, Replacement Cost Estimate (RCE), and Coverage A product features, and grow that expertise across your team.
  • Take full accountability for the team's Coverage A portfolio, from prioritization through execution, balancing tactical and strategic work while transparently aligning priorities with your team, leaders, and stakeholders. Set the longer-term vision that shapes how the portfolio evolves.
  • Guide the team in conducting granular analyses on Coverage A, Cost Guide, and RCE, using data insights to inform product decisions and strategy.
  • Oversee the design and development of Coverage A, Cost Guide, and RCE product updates, partnering with risk analytics, distribution, legal, IT, and other stakeholders to align on design, experience, requirements, and offer strategy. As business sponsor, drive critical projects from concept through implementation, advancing multiple cross-functional initiatives concurrently.
  • Lead your team in regularly preparing and presenting executive-level updates and Product recommendations to diverse audiences. Create transparency on key projects and build buy-in and alignment within Product and across functions.
  • Coach, develop, and support your analysts, prioritizing their growth, engagement, and performance while contributing to a supportive, high-performance culture within your team and across partners.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field
  • Minimum 8 years, typically 10 years or more of relevant experience
  • PhD beneficial
  • Expert skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (eg, SAS, Emblem)
  • Must have exceptional planning, analytical, decision-making, communication, and project management skills
  • Experience directly managing others required
  • Experience managing operations beneficial
  • High-level knowledge of data sources, tools, and the business (lines, systems, pricing plans), predictive modeling, and code (eg, SQL)
  • Significant understanding of competitors' pricing strategies and relationship to our own
  • Industry knowledge developed from internal meetings, news alerts, project-specific work, and proactive research into competitor strategies
