About the Team

Our Data Solutions team sits within PP&B's Transformation Intelligence & Enablement group and serves as the enterprise's trusted source for PP&B data. The PP&B Office of Data & Data Science is responsible for how PP&B data is defined, modeled, and delivered — spanning data strategy, data products, semantic layer development, PowerBI Reporting and GenBI enabled analytics so that talent, business, and executive stakeholders can make confident, data-informed decisions.

About the Role

As a Principal Data Solutions Analyst, you'll own discovery, design, and delivery for some of our most complex reporting solutions — from PowerBI dashboards to the semantic models and data solutions that feed them. You'll operate under minimal direction, applying PowerBI development expertise and data subject-matter knowledge to shape how data is structured for consumption across the organization. You'll be viewed as a technical resource for the team and a go-to advisor for how talent data should be modeled, governed, and surfaced including through emerging semantic-layer and AI-enabled consumption paths.

What You'll Do

  • Own discovery and requirements for complex data reporting products.
  • Design and build PowerBI solutions (reports, datasets, semantic models) of high technical complexity, using a comprehensive understanding of DAX, data modeling, and related tooling; perform iterative testing to confirm specifications are met.
  • Curate and maintain shared, governed metrics and logic for talent data — assist in building the certified and promoted datasets that serve as the authoritative layer — so stakeholders get consistent answers across dashboards, self-service tools, and AI-assisted interfaces, rather than one-off reports.
  • Apply PP&B data subject-matter expertise to translate ambiguous business questions into the right data structures.
  • Contribute to the team's semantic layer and Snowflake data product work, applying data modeling principles and partnering with Technology/Data Engineering on scalability and performance.
  • Build and certify semantic models to RWLP's Report Development & Design standard. Bring semantic models to RWLP's AI-readiness bar so Copilot and natural-language querying return trustworthy answers. Help extend the semantic layer toward AI-enabled, natural-language consumption (e.g., Snowflake Cortex/Copilot-style querying), so governed talent metrics stay consistent whether accessed via dashboard, self-service, or conversational interface.
  • Maintain prototypes and production data solutions, assessing viability and scalability with your own team or in partnership with IT, and keep existing datasets and reports running to standard.
  • Apply working knowledge of metadata, lineage, business definitions, compliance, and data security across the end-to-end design of complex, multi-tier data/reporting products.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: ~5+ years in data analytics, BI development, or a related data solutions role
  • PowerBI development: Advanced, hands-on PowerBI expertise — report and dataset design, DAX, data modeling, and performance tuning — sufficient to lead complex builds independently.
  • Semantic layer & data modeling: Working-to-advanced understanding of semantic layer concepts — grain, dimensions, relationships, governed metrics — and how they apply across multi-tier, multi-platform systems.
  • Governed self-service: Familiarity with certified/promoted dataset standards and governed self-service analytics (shared measures, reusable semantic models) as a foundation for consistent reporting at scale.
  • Reporting standards: Familiarity with (or ability to quickly ramp up on) Liberty's Reporting Well-Lit Path — Data Model Design, Data Preparation, Report Development & Design, and Governance — as the enterprise standard this role will build and certify models against.
  • Governance & quality: Working knowledge of metadata, lineage, business definitions, compliance, and data security as applied to project work.
  • Tooling: Comfortable across the broader data and analytics toolset used for the role (e.g., PowerBI, SQL, Snowflake, GitHub), with the ability to use AI-assisted tools (e.g., Github Copilot/ Claude ) to improve productivity.
  • Delivery: Understanding of Agile techniques; able to independently set expectations for deliverables of high complexity.

Nice to Have

  • Experience migrating or building semantic models upstream of PowerBI into a cloud warehouse (e.g., Snowflake) as part of a broader data products strategy.
  • Exposure to GenAI-enabled analytics or conversational/self-service data experiences (e.g., natural-language querying over a governed semantic layer, such as Snowflake Cortex Analyst).
  • PP&B data subject-matter expertise: Demonstrated familiarity with talent/workforce data domains and how they're consumed across the business.
  • Experience building agents and/or assistants.

Employees may apply for a new role after completing 12 months of employment in their current position.

Employees should review all role requirements and apply only for positions for which they are eligible. Hiring processes may vary by country, including differences in procedures, requirements, and timelines. For country-specific details, please consult your local recruiting / HR team.
