OVERVIEW:
Senior Quantitative Marketing Analyst role is part of M&T’s Customer Insights & Analytics Organization.
Apply advanced statistical techniques to evaluate marketing channel performance, customer behavior, and digital campaign effectiveness, and develop materials that clearly communicate impact to business and marketing stakeholders.
LOCATION:
This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring onsite presence four days per week at one of M&T Bank’s regional offices. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to one of the following locations:

SCOPE:
Responsible for delivering advanced marketing analytics to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and revenue growth across digital and sales/branch channels within Consumer Banking. This role leverages complex data sources to evaluate campaign performance, optimize targeting strategies, and quantify marketing ROI, while partnering closely with Digital Marketing, Retail/Branch Banking, and Product teams. The position translates data into actionable insights and executive-level storytelling, supports data-driven decision-making, and ensures all analytics adhere to regulatory, risk, and governance standards within the financial services environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leverage large, complex datasets across digital, CRM, and sales channels to generate actionable insights that inform marketing strategy, customer acquisition, and cross-sell/upsell performance within consumer banking
- Perform quantitative and statistical analyses (e.g., A/B testing, attribution analysis, segmentation, propensity modeling) to measure marketing ROI and improve targeting strategies
- Analyze and optimize performance of digital marketing campaigns (e.g., paid media, email, web, mobile) and branch/sales associate-led marketing efforts; identify trends, anomalies, and drivers of performance across customer segments and channels
- Support and mentor junior analysts by providing guidance on analytical approaches, coding best practices, and effective communication of insights
- Develop and enhance dashboards and reporting solutions in partnership with Marketing teams, delivering intuitive views of marketing performance, KPIs, and customer insights for stakeholders
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management
- Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
No supervisory responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/ or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years related experience
- Experience with data analysis and statistical tools
- Experience working in large databases
- Familiarity with common programming languages
- Experience analyzing large data sets and explaining results of analysis through concise written and verbal communication as well as charts/graphs
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
- 6 or more years related work experience in data analysis
- Experience working with statistical analysis
- Expert skills in programming languages such as SQL, SAS, Python, or R
- Experience with one or more cloud databases
- Experience working within an agile environment
- Experience in quantitative finance or a related field, analyzing large and complex data sets, data reliability analysis, quality controls and data processing
