The Opportunity
As a Securities Trade and Reconciliation Analyst candidate, you will play a critical role in a fast paced, complex, and collaborative environment, where you will continue to develop your investment knowledge and technical skills. This role offers the ability to learn the overall flow of data in the investment ecosystem and offers opportunity to work with teams across the organization that utilize investment data. The nature of the work will require perseverance, accountability, attention to detail and the ability to react to everchanging business needs.
You will apply your investment knowledge and technical skills as member of Investment Data Integrity team. You will provide essential support to the users of the Investment Data Ecosystem including, troubleshooting and resolving issues with Reference Data, monitoring and validation of Critical Data Elements and providing the reporting and investment close processes. This role offers the opportunity to partner with teams around the organization to identify and implement process and data improvements. You will understand the importance of Investment Data Quality and look for opportunities to continuously improve processes. The nature of the work will require perseverance, accountability, attention to detail and the ability to react to everchanging business needs.
The Team
The Securities Trade and Reconciliation team is part of the Investment Data Integrity team reporting to the Head of Investment Data Integrity, part of the MassMutual Investment Operations team within the Investment Management division. The Investment Data Quality Team oversees the daily processing of security master, trade, positions, and transactions for all assets in MassMutual’s General Investment Account (GIA) as well as partners closely with Security Operations, Investment and Tax Accounting and Enterprise Risk Management to address and resolve data related issues.
The Impact:
- Monitoring of trade ingestion from all sources into the Investment Accounting System, resolving issues ‘on the fly’ or working with business partners to resolve.
- Understanding and maintaining Security Master File details and updating as needed across all asset types.
- Processing manual trade activity when needed and following appropriate controls.
- Performing daily trade and security master reconciliations, identifying breaks and root cause for remediation, escalating to appropriate partners when needed.
- Developing business acumen regarding corporate actions, paydowns and income payments and how activity flows through the system.
- You will be involved in projects with multiple disciplines that are investment data and technology related across investment management, pricing, the Datamart, and reporting.
- You will be expected to work independently and be a key resource for resolution of unique or complex business problems such as data issues within Eagle but also external data issues and working with vendors on resolutions.
- Utilizing SQL, excel, and other applications, to drive continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond scope of responsibility.
- Contribute to our successful transition to new technology solutions to automate and improve our processes.
- Successfully manage multiple priorities, communicate and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders across organization, and deliver on your commitments.
- Effectively collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization and build key relationships to maintain expertise in investment accounting and related financial impacts.
- Add value to the enterprise through close collaboration and partnership with other MassMutual business units.
- Understands how data flows through the financial systems to the accounting function, planning appropriately for changes and prioritizing and implementing enhancements.
- Uses professional insight to identify, initiate and/or lead initiatives and continuous improvement activities that increase efficiency and add value. Leads problem solving to improve quality, reduce issues, improve team collaboration and improve customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrates technical and leadership competencies and passion for continuous improvement.
The Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years of experience in investment operations processes and related data workflows
The Ideal Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related area
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team-based environment
- Knowledge of Eagle PACE or like Data Management Tool
- Knowledge of Eagle STAR or like Investment Accounting platform
- Expert user of excel
- Expert user SQL/Oracle query tools
- MicroStrategy, or other reporting tool experience a plus
- Ability to perform independent research and serve as a key resource for resolution of unique or complex business problems
- Strong multi-tasking skills, ability to adapt to change and manage competing priorities

Salary Range:
$113,100.00-$148,400.00At MassMutual, we focus on ensuring fair equitable pay, by providing competitive salaries, along with incentive and bonus opportunities for all employees. Your total compensation package includes either a bonus target or in a sales-focused role a Variable Incentive Compensation component.
