Suspense Reconciliation Analyst, Investment Operations

The Opportunity

As a Suspense Reconciliation Analyst in our Investment Operations organization, you are responsible for reconciling cash clearing suspense general ledger accounts on a timely basis, which includes root cause analysis, solution recommendation and implementation. You will work closely with internal teams and departments to research complex transaction processing. This role also requires an understanding of the investment bank account structure in order to facilitate the bank account set up within the accounting system when onboarding new managers and investment types.

The Impact

As a Suspense Reconciliation Analyst, you will need to have advanced knowledge of back-office securities operations and accounting functions for Schedule D assets. You will reconcile the cash clearing suspense general ledger accounts associated with investment cash transactions in accordance with established policies and procedures, which may include:

  • Reconcile general ledger suspense lines on a daily and monthly basis
  • Perform research, including exception oversight, analysis and resolution
  • Research, analyze, and validate security related transactions on the accounting system, many times collaborating with others across the organization
  • Triage and prioritize scheduled work as well as ad-hoc requests as received
  • Partner with vendors, banks and Investment Managers
  • Maintain and improve workflows and procedures as needed
  • Training of new team members

The Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years working in the financial services sector in similar investment operations capacity

The Ideal Qualifications

  • Four-year Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experienced in back-office securities operations and accounting for Schedule D assets
  • SAP experience
  • Experience in preparing and approving general ledger entries
  • Advanced Banking, Treasury, Investment experience
  • Ability to problem solve and resolve issues independently, and know when to escalate appropriately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate building positive working relationships
  • Risk and controls awareness
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Recognition of patterns and trends in data operations and identifying opportunities for improving processes and systems
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products (primarily Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Salary Range:

$99,800.00-$131,000.00
