The Opportunity

As a Product Owner on our Worksite Team, you’ll be responsible for executing against and helping to shape the product roadmap for a group benefits policy administration platform supporting an ongoing portfolio of voluntary benefit products. You will be expected to navigate multiple concurrent projects from a high level and able to also quickly dive into the weeds with teams as needed to address project-specific roadblocks. You’ll need to roll up your sleeves and shoulder-to-shoulder with both highly technical and non-technical teams across the organization throughout the entire product development lifecycle.

The Team

The Worksite Insurance business is growing as we aim to reach middle class workers in support of MassMutual’s vision to provide financial well-being to all Americans. Worksite has achieved success in recent years distributing our Group Voluntary and Executive products through our multi-channel distribution relationships. To further this success, we must continue to evolve our strategy to reach more benefits producers and customers, while providing them an enhanced self-service, digital experience to allow us to aggressively grow top line sales. Worksite, which provides protection benefits such as life, disability, critical illness and accident insurance through employers, complements MassMutual’s retirement plans business with the goal of enhancing the financial wellness of Americans through their employers.

The Impact:

  • Responsible for building a deep understanding of the scope, member impact, operational impact, and system integration points of any new product initiative and while driving and providing oversight to planning, requirements gathering and cost/resource estimate breakdowns.

  • Serves as a liaison between Product Development, the Project Management Office, Business Design and IT.

  • Lead the development and execution of complex business plans, programs and initiatives which have impact across Worksite with broad impact

  • Responsible for creating deliverables and presentations that further team understanding of the implementation and proactively communicate with stakeholders to ensure awareness and mitigate for risks and issues

  • Serves as the voice of the customer and translates customer needs into platform capabilities and solutions that meet those needs.

  • Serves as owner of the product and platform capabilities roadmap

  • Act as key participant in large-scale planning

  • Review and analyze strategy for product/functionality/experience area

  • Influence strategy for the business line requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors

  • Make decisions in strategy for product/functionality/experience area requiring strong understanding of the business, policies, procedures and/or compliance requirements

  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid-level to senior managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

The Minimuim Qualifications:

  • 7+ years product management, Product Owner, Business Analyst, Business Consultant, or similar role

The Ideal Qualifications

  • Group benefits experience with insurance products

  • Previous product management experience with policy administration platforms, inclusive of digital portals, claims, billing, member management and quoting

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Strategic mindset, with excellent knowledge and understanding of banking/financial services

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Previous experience launching and scaling new capabilities or enhancements within an Agile framework

  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with proven ability to turn findings into executable plans

Salary Range:

$113,100.00-$148,400.00
