The Opportunity

The Investments Management Technology Team is seeking an exceptional and experienced Technical Product Owner. Our ideal candidate is well versed in leading cross functional teams, managing/working with vendors, tracking/monitoring financials (Cash/Labor), developing and maintaining project/resource plans, delivering artifacts required for our governance processes, managing Risks/Issues, and reporting product status to various stakeholders. Using agile product management practices, you will work closely with cross-functional global teams to prioritize and deliver impactful features and capabilities.

This is a critical role in maintaining the cohesion between the business stakeholders and the technology delivery teams. It requires a deep and broad technology background conducive to participate and guide technology decisions and best practices. It also requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently or in collaboration, exceptional communication skills, and knowledge of or the aptitude to learn the investment management domain.

The Team

You’ll be an integral part of our esteemed Corporate Technology Team, focused on Investment Management Technology. Our mission is to build reliable solutions by utilizing our Investment Management applications and platforms. You will be part of a team that is technical, highly motivated and excels at working in a fast-paced and always evolving environment with agility and resilience. The team engages in business as usual (BAU) initiatives as well as major projects. When needed, they collaborate with vendor resources and infrastructure teams.

The Impact

The Technical Product Owner is responsible for defining the product vision, managing the product backlog, and ensuring the product meets customer needs. The Technical Product Owner ensures that the product/service being delivered is aligned with the needs and expectations of stakeholders. This role supports strategic investment initiatives within the areas of Portfolio Management, Investment Operations, Derivative Operations, Quantitative Research/Development, Investment Accounting, and ensures recommended solutions are aligned with business and MassMutual IT strategies while adhering to relevant technology standards.

  • Application delivery, support, and maintenance in a DevOps/Agile delivery model
  • Participate in defining the product vision

  • Analyze, facilitate and execute on change requests with the backlog as business priorities change and new initiatives are approved
  • Assist in manage product financials and conduct variance analysis working closely with the Delivery Manager
  • Develop and report on product metrics/KPIs, vendor performance and operational measures
  • Ensure enterprise due diligence, risk assessment and continuing vendor monitoring are being accomplished
  • Partner with CFPMO to establish and facilitate various communication forums with stakeholders
  • Ensure documentation of product processes, artifacts and status reports are kept current to package presentations for leadership and executives
  • Define, identify and allocate project resources

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Systems or related field
  • 8+ years of overall IT product/project/program/portfolio management experience
  • 3+ years of experience with stakeholder & vendor relationship management
  • 3+ years of investment management experience with an understanding of systems and data management.
  • 3+ year of experience with investment management systems (from front office to middle office, to back offic)

Salary Range:

$107,700.00-$141,300.00
