The Team
We are seeking a highly skilled Integration Technical Lead to drive the design, development, and implementation of integration solutions for our Policy Administration Systems (PAS).
The Opportunity
This role will focus on ensuring seamless data flow between PAS and upstream/downstream systems using RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in streaming technologies, and enterprise integration patterns. This role requires a deep understanding of insurance processes, strong technical expertise, and excellent leadership capabilities.
The Impact
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of integration solutions between PAS and external/internal systems. Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership across integration projects.
- Governance & Oversight: Define and enforce integration standards, best practices, and governance policies.
- Design & Implementation: Design solutions involving scalable API/Microservices and Streaming Consumers and Producers using Java/Springboot technologies. Develop and Deploy applications to Kubernetes Clusters and connecting to Kafka topics
- Collaboration: Partner with business analysts, solution architects, and developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Data Stewardship:: Ensure data consistency, quality, and security across integrated systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize system performance and user experience.
- Platform Management: Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of the integration eco- system. Ensure system performance, availability, and security.
- Project Management: Manage and coordinate technical projects related to the policy administration integrations.
- Troubleshooting: Lead the resolution of complex technical issues and system outages. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Drive troubleshooting efforts related to integrations/environments during implementation.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, and operational procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in software development with a focus on system integration with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role. Experience in the insurance industry and policy administration systems required.
- 7+ years of experience with the following technologies:
- Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
- 7+ years experience with event-driven architectures and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS EventBridge).
Ideal Qualifications
- Deep understanding of policy administration systems and insurance domain workflows.
- Experience with CI/CD(Jenkins, GitHub Actions), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with data mapping, ETL, and data transformation tools.
- Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, and API security best practices.
- Experience with DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Proven track record of leading technical teams and delivering successful projects.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.

Salary Range:
$144,800.00-$190,000.00At MassMutual, we focus on ensuring fair equitable pay, by providing competitive salaries, along with incentive and bonus opportunities for all employees.
