The Opportunity

As a Strategic Project Consultant in the Wealth Management Advisory Oversight team, you will lead a portfolio of small to mid-sized projects that improve governance, mitigate risk, and enhance process efficiency across investment advisory services. You will have full ownership of project lifecycles — from identifying opportunities and developing critical milestones to driving successful implementation. You will operate with a high level of autonomy, managing multiple projects concurrently, while collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure strategic alignment. You will also develop and present regular management reports to senior leadership, ensuring visibility into project progress, risks, and outcomes.

The Advisory Oversight team sits within the broader Wealth Management organization and is responsible for oversight of advisory products, related field supervision practices and governance programs. Our team includes professionals with deep experience in risk management, compliance, operations, and product oversight. We are driven by a shared commitment to excellence, accountability, and doing what’s best for the client. We partner closely with Product, Compliance, Legal, Operations and Technology to ensure our solutions are balanced, scalable, and aligned to regulatory expectations. The Impact

In this role, you will:

  • Identify, design, and lead risk, governance, and process efficiency projects from initiation through deployment

  • Develop project plans, define deliverables and milestones, engage stakeholders, and track progress to ensure timely execution

  • Conduct gap analyses to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective solutions

  • Build and deliver executive-level reporting on project progress, issues, and outcomes

  • Collaborate with internal and field partners to align project outcomes with strategic and operational goals

  • Ensure all projects are fully documented, with clear training and communication plans for sustained adoption

The Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional work experience in financial services industry

  • 3+ experience in project management or program delivery within wealth management, investment advisory services, risk management, compliance, research/reporting, or operations

  • 3+ years experience developing project charters, manage timelines, track milestones, and drive issues to resolution

  • 3+ years experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project tracking tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Planner, SharePoint, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Due to the nature of this position, as a part of our background check process, candidates must be able to pass a non-registered fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA

The Ideal Qualifications

  • PMP, CAPM, or other project management certification

  • Strong understanding of wealth management and investment advisory platforms, regulatory expectations, and operational risk principles

  • Familiarity with process reengineering, risk control design, or regulatory change management

  • Demonstrated commitment to MassMutual competencies including collaboration, decision quality, and driving results

Salary Range:

$102,500.00-$134,500.00
