The Opportunity
As an MMFA Internal Wholesaler you will be responsible for driving annuity and insurance product distribution and sales. In this role you will play a strategic part in shaping case design and translating complex concepts into actionable sales strategies. You’ll serve as a subject matter expert, responding to advanced advisor inquiries with clarity and precision. Additionally, you’ll proactively initiate high-impact sales conversations across your assigned territory, driving growth through collaboration with cross-functional teams. You’ll also lead virtual sessions for advisors and agency annuity specialists, delivering thought leadership on product sales ideas and introducing advanced planning concepts

The Impact
The MMFA National Sales team at MassMutual has a significant and multifaceted impact across the organization, particularly in empowering advisors, driving product sales, and enhancing client outcomes. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Territory Management: Partner with an external wholesaler to manage a defined territory and drive production.
Sales Enablement: Provide pre- and post-sale product support, including case design, technical illustrations, and alternative solutions.
Advisor Engagement: Proactively consult with financial professionals to uncover opportunities and grow penetration rates.
Activity Execution: Meet specific activity expectations to maximize sales impact.
The Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma and 4+ years of financial services/insurance experience
3+ years of annuity or life insurance internal wholesaling experience in the financial services and/or financial institutions (banks, credit unions, wires, broker dealers)
FINRA Series 6 or 7 and 63 at time of application
State Life & Health license at time of application or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
The Ideal Qualifications
5+ years’ prior experience within the insurance industry/financial service and wholesaling
Extensive knowledge about annuity products (fixed, income, variable annuities) or life insurance practices, trends and how information affects business decisions
Experience uncovering sales opportunities within books of business,
Deep understanding of competition and experts on our product portfolio
Coach and influence other sales teams/internal
Ability to deliver complex products and concepts in an easy way to follow/ articulate manner
Ability to give large group presentations/ cover for externals (remote/in person)
Involved in planning meetings with various parts of the org/ AAX, etc.
Well-established self-management skills, e.g., territory management, time management, prioritization, managing internal & external relationships
Deep understanding of economic environment, interest rates and competitor positioning
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively guide, support and coach others on the team
Compensation Structure
$66K - $72,500 base range plus sales-based incentive opportunity resulting in a total target compensation package of $102K - $110K
