The Opportunity

We're looking to hire a Sales Consultant to join our MMFA National Sales team. In this position, you'll help design various annuity product ideas and concepts and successfully answer incoming advisor questions. Also, you'll proactively start sales conversations within assigned territory to increase sales through partnership with the broader team, as well as conducting virtual meetings for advisors and agency annuity specialists on annuity sales ideas and concepts.

The Impact

The MMFA National Sales team at MassMutual has a significant and multifaceted impact across the organization, particularly in empowering advisors, driving product sales, and enhancing client outcomes. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Proactively partner with Regional Sales Director partner and other business partners to develop/grow individual annuity sales and achieve assigned goals. Develop effective business sales plans and determine actions to deliver them.

  • Answer incoming Territory calls in a timely accurate manner providing professional sales oriented detailed information to caller (product information, illustrations, forms and marketing materials) for producers and back office support personnel.

  • Proficient with and effectively utilize illustration tools, SalesForce and other identified systems/tools.

  • Act as a liaison on behalf of Sales for the advisor and other sales entities that do business with us informing them of ongoing products and communications.

  • Work as a contributing team member to assist in achieving the sales goals of National Sales and provide backup to the other members of the team when needed. Cross-train on all product lines: Disability Insurance; Life Insurance and Annuities and use that knowledge to identify cross-selling opportunities.

  • Work with supporting/processing areas/operations to address any issues that would impact the ability of a submitted case to be “reported” in a timely manner, respectful of procedures.

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree OR High School Diploma and 2+ years of financial services/insurance experience

  • 2+ years of customer service or sales experience

  • Must obtain FINRA SIE & Series 6 within 180 days of hire

  • Must obtain FINRA Series 63 and State Life & Health License within 12 months of hire

The Ideal Qualifications

  • 1+ years of sales support or direct selling experience with quotas and metrics

  • 1+ year experience in the Financial Services/ Insurance Industry

  • Series 6 and/or Series 63 at time of application

  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the marketplace that applies to the products being sold

  • In-depth Annuity Product Knowledge

  • Proven track record of working others, team player

  • Focused on development, a quick learner in product space

  • Ability to think creatively and outside of the box, focused on sales execution, utilizing products and solutions

Compensation Structure

  • $50,000-$52,500 base range plus sales-based incentive opportunity resulting in a total target compensation package of $70K-$75K
