The Opportunity
This role sits within the MMLIS Investment Advisory Platform Team and oversees the Orion platform, including the co-advisory program and WMS Orion enhancements. Responsibilities include collaborating with Legal and Compliance on ADV updates, testing new releases for downstream impacts, and addressing field escalations. The platform, currently at $1B AUM, is projected to grow to $10B. The team also manages Orion’s integrated tech stack, including Redtail, Hidden Levers, and Orion Planning.

The Impact
Our Wealth Management Product team empowers advisors, agencies, and MassMutual by offering open architecture investment and brokerage solutions. We help clients achieve their financial goals through informed investing, strategic planning, and seamless execution.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead product development and enhancement efforts for the Orion platform, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with advisor needs.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, and senior leadership to define market requirements, manage risk, and update regulatory documents (e.g., ADVs).
- Oversee daily Orion operations and coordinate enhancements with MMLIS teams, including Innovation, Operations, and business line leaders.
- Evaluate Orion releases for advisor usability, communicate updates via field calls (AAX/GAX), and maintain the Compass page.
- Maintain the Orion technology roadmap and ensure alignment with broader platform strategies (e.g., Envestnet, Tamarac, Wealthscape).
- Support data integration and reporting across systems like Envestnet Intelligence and Trualytics.
- Test new configurations for expanding WMS offerings, including Advisory 529 Plans, HSA, DC Participant Advice via Pontera, Advisory Annuities, Structured Notes, and Cash Management.
- Liaise with Banking and Lending to integrate products into Orion.
The Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years’ experience in the financial services industry
- Series 7 at time of application or must obtain within 1 year of hire
- 2+ years' participating in product implementation projects
- 2+ years' proven ability to organize tasks, prioritize competing deadlines, and execute deliverables efficiently across cross-functional teams
The Ideal Qualifications
- 7+ years in the use of configuration, implementation and enhancement of product technology platforms
- 3+ years experience in relationship management
- Proven capabilities in design that can give the broker dealer a competitive edge in competing against the likes of LPL, Osaic, Raymond James, Cetera and Ameriprise in this space
- Persuasive communication and presentation skills as the position will often be required to present to the Field Force
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient in the Microsoft suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Proven capabilities in building out investment advisory enhancements and programs that are cutting-edge within the investment advisory marketplace

Salary Range:
$121,800.00-$159,800.00At MassMutual, we focus on ensuring fair equitable pay, by providing competitive salaries, along with incentive and bonus opportunities for all employees. Your total compensation package includes either a bonus target or in a sales-focused role a Variable Incentive Compensation component.
