The Opportunity

The CFPMO (Corporate Functions Program Management Office) Change Management Consultant is responsible for enabling the change management team to ensure our people are ready, prepared, and able to adopt and sustain change and serve as a change management practitioner on assigned projects (as needed), creating and delivering effective change management (CM) plans and strategies.

In this role, you will lead internal CFPMO change management operations and establish and lead the broader MassMutual Change Management Community of Practice (COP). Acting as a strategic enabler, you will design, maintain, and optimize change management processes, tools, methodologies, and ways of working.

The CFPMO Change Management Consultant will be part of the Change Management Team and report to the Head of Change Management. The Team

The CFPMO was established to oversee the execution of initiatives across Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk, Procurement, Investment Management, Law, and HR & Employee Experience, as well as define and own project management standards across the company. As part of the CFPMO, the Change Management Team is focused on the people side of change – ensuring that our people are ready and able to adopt change and sustain it for the long term with the goal of achieving project ROI as quickly as possible.

The Impact

As a Change Management Consultant, you will:

  • Own and manage CM operations, including methodology, workflows, and governance
  • Maintain and enhance the CM SharePoint site for structure, content, usability, and metrics
  • Design, update, and standardize CM tools and templates for consistency and ease of use
  • Ensure alignment with branding, look and feel, etc. for all tools, and templates
  • Maintain and socialize the end-to-end CM operating model and strategy
  • Drive adoption of our methodology, tools, and ways of working
  • Own CM metrics, dashboards, and reporting processes
  • Analyze performance data and provide actionable insights
  • Develop and execute strategies for CM team skill enhancement as well as education and upskilling for others (e.g. project managers, etc.)
  • Lead weekly team status meetings and other CM operational forums
  • Own and manage the CM meeting calendar for alignment and efficiency
  • Identify opportunities, recommend and implement new ways of working, enable AI tools and practices, utilization of global resources, etc. to ensure we are operating at the optimal level
  • Keep up with trends, insights, and latest practices in change management as a professional discipline
  • Conduct initial change complexity assessments on incoming projects, recommend appropriate CM staffing
  • Function as the change leader on assigned projects, as needed
  • Enable a process and regularly conduct internal quality control assessments to ensure our methodology, tools, and ways of working are being utilized as planned and consistently applied
  • In partnership with the Head of Change Management – develop and implement a strategy and plan to establish enterprise-wide change management standards and enable a Community of Practice
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility
  • Accountable for meeting change management requirements from initial intake to project closure

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree​ or equivalent experience and expertise
  • 8+ years as a change leader creating and implementing change management strategies
  • 2+ years leading a COE operations or internal process leadership
  • Change Management certification (PROSCI ADKAR, and or CCMP)

The Ideal Qualifications

  • 10+ years of change management experience
  • Experience implementing change management strategies in a business environment that have achieved high levels of readiness & adoption
  • Understanding of project management methodologies (i.e. Agile or Waterfall)​​​
  • Deep understanding and expertise of change management processes, tools, and methodologies including creation and upskilling, articulating the value each delivers, and how to best apply them
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills (e.g. PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to develop professional, engaging tools, templates, etc.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to influence and drive continuous improvement across the team
  • Proficiency in change management metrics, dashboards, and data-driven decision-making
  • Skilled in leading and facilitating workshops and meetings
  • Ability to identify and implement technology-driven improvements such as AI tools

Salary Range:

$121,800-$159,800
