The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our Risk Technology team. This role is responsible for formulating and defining business and system scope and objectives based on user needs, industry requirements, and business strategy. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive analysis of business and user needs, document requirements, and translate them into actionable business and system solutions. You will work at the highest technical level across most phases of business and systems analysis, considering the broader business implications of technology applications on both current and future environments.

The Business Systems Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders across all areas related to enterprise risk to deliver technology objectives and solutions supporting business strategy. Acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, you will analyze and define requirements and support the full lifecycle of building data and analytics solutions to ensure successful delivery. Your responsibilities include collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

You will communicate complex findings in a concise and easily understandable manner, directly linking insights to business outcomes. Leveraging advanced knowledge of statistics and data visualization, you will derive meaningful business insights, identify and develop key performance indicators, and design dashboards or reports to support them. The role may require cross-functional collaboration to define data requirements, review test cases, and process change requests. As a leader within analytics programs, you will mentor and educate other consultants to build capabilities across the enterprise.

The Team

The Risk Technology team within Corporate Technology supports Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) data, analytics, and applications with a risk centric approach that improves decision making and performance. The team provides an integrated view of how well the organization manages risk and focuses on enhancing existing products and implementing new solutions. The team continues to be successful in driving improvements in tools, technology and processes, for more consistent risk analysis and reporting, and enabling greater opportunities for scale and efficiency within ERM and with stakeholders in Investment Management and Finance.

The Impact:

  • Drive data and BI initiatives that support the monthly and quarterly reporting to monitor risks, ensuring solutions accurately calculate investment, financial and economic risk.
  • Define and prioritize features that support data and application platform enhancements to facilitate more comprehensive risk management and decision-making aligned to our strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with strategic ERM business partners in Investments Management and Finance to align technology data solutions with planning, analysis, and risk management needs.
  • Translate enterprise risk requirements into clear user stories and work closely with architects, engineers, data modelers, BI developers, and analysts to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups; ensure features are prioritized based on business value.
  • Partner with QA and UAT teams to ensure solutions are tested and validated against business needs.
  • Support end-to-end delivery, including requirements gathering, data validation, UAT coordination, and stakeholder communication.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and data integrity across risk management processes.
  • Manage stakeholder communications, including demos, release updates, and status reporting.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to facilitate informed risk management decisions.
  • Share expertise and knowledge with the broader team. Work with management to resolve key issues, critical decisions and time constraints on highly visible projects. Coach and mentor others on own team or within matrixed organization

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation involving the definition of business and data requirements, advanced analytics techniques, complex data transformations
  • 2+ years experience with Analytical tools/products such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, or similar BI tools to develop Analytical solutions
  • 2+ years experience acting as a leader within analytics programs to mentor/educate other staff to further grow capabilities across the enterprise

The Ideal Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate objectives, plans, status and results clearly
  • Ability to understand and translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and organizations
  • Experience with analytics tools or vender analytics platforms
  • Proficient with ETL and Datawarehouse concepts and processes
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Sharepoint
  • Ability to work with various file formats and systems
  • Experience with reporting tools and data processing techniques
  • Proficient with standard documentation tools (Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written methods
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Desire to learn new technologies
  • Ability to identify data quality issues and recommend the best course of action to address them

Salary Range:

$128,000-$168,000
