What You'll Do
The Product Manager 1 supports the development and delivery of AI-enabled products and use cases. This role works within a Data Science team to help prioritize initiatives, translate business needs into product outcomes, and track performance and adoption. The PM1 partners closely with stakeholders, the data science team, and department leadership to deliver measurable value while gaining experience across the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to managing the AI use-case intake pipeline by helping vet, prioritize, and track initiatives in partnership with department leadership.
- Collaborate with finance and product leadership to support cost-benefit analyses (CBAs), helping quantify potential value, ROI, and trade-offs for proposed use cases.
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities, document workflows, and define clear problem statements, success metrics, and “jobs to be done.”
- Help define and monitor AI utilization and adoption metrics (e.g., Copilot usage, agent adoption, efficiency improvements) and share insights with the product team.
- Contribute to the management of the RIS AI Portal portfolio.
- Work with business partners to refine requirements, support backlog development, and ensure clear understanding of business needs.
- Build and share reports, dashboards, and updates to communicate progress, learnings, and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional AI governance efforts, including documentation, risk tracking, and alignment with compliance standards.
- Use Jira to coordinate work across stakeholders, track progress, and maintain visibility into product delivery.
Who You Are
- 2+ years of product management experience, preferably in an engineering or technology organization.
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts, generative AI, and agentic patterns. (technical depth not required, but conversational fluency expected)
- Demonstrated experience building business cases and cost-benefit analyses.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with intake/pipeline management and prioritization frameworks.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in defining and tracking KPIs and adoption metrics.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and agile delivery practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services or other regulated data environments.
- Familiarity with data science, analytics, or AI/ML concepts (e.g., models, experimentation, data pipelines, or model lifecycle).
- Exposure to product, analytics, or technical project work supporting data-driven or AI initiatives.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$85000 - $134000 / year
Salary Details
The following locations are examples of market-specific salary ranges across different geographies.
- Wichita, KS: $85,000 - $100,000 / year
- Des Moines, IA: $90,000 - $105,000 / year
- Charlotte, NC: $95,000 - $110,000 / year
- Chicago/Minneapolis: $104,000 - $122,000 / year
- Los Angeles/New York City: $112,000 - $134,000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environment
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Raleigh, NC, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
