We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced market intelligence specialist to join our Global Client Coverage Research Center team. This strategic position involves developing and managing primary research initiatives that address pivotal issues shaping today’s intricate wealth management landscape. These initiatives delve into key aspects such as investment solutions, investor sentiment and behavior, advisory experiences, personal wealth structure, and risk perceptions. By identifying emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities, you will play a key role in facilitating more meaningful and informative conversations with strategic partners and clients. This will not only drive growth for State Street Global Advisors (GA) but also reinforce our leadership position in the market.
Your background should showcase a solid understanding of the wealth management industry and a proven ability to develop insightful market intelligence, leveraging compelling research-driven content to drive change and deliver educational value. Success in this role demands the initiative, organizational prowess, and persuasive ability to craft, execute, and oversee the vision, strategy, and objectives of the Research Center while endeavoring to expand our influence across GA’s strategic imperatives, client demographics, and geographic regions.
You will be responsible for enabling and managing cross-functional teams, in addition to research teams and leading cross-functional activities. This includes empowering internal client-facing teams, strategic partners (index and sub-advisory relationships), and clients (institutions, employers, and financial intermediaries, alongside the investors under their care) with insights into the key themes impacting investors worldwide to create a competitive advantage and enable sales development.
Due to the responsibilities of this role, this job needs to be performed primarily in the office with some flex work opportunities available.
As a Senior Research Program Manager, Market Intelligence, you will:
Commit to the Research Center’s measures of success contributing to GA business growth:
1- Being the preferred provider and creating better outcomes for clients
2- Increasing client/partner engagement to build awareness and loyalty
3- Moving beyond transactional sales to grow share of wallet and enable the Global Client Coverage team to drive assets under management and annualized net new revenue
Stay abreast of industry trends and change to develop a forward-looking Research Center agenda Collaborate with your peer, the Senior Program Manager, Partnerships & Activation, to set strategic direction and define long-range planning.
Partner effectively across the organization. You will listen, influence, and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to enrich the creation of the research agenda, ensuring a holistic market landscape view and fostering alignment between research outcomes and GA business strategy.
Utilize innovative approaches to develop high-quality research on relevant topics that resonate with our clients and partners. Thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and results-focused work environment.
Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for new research and collaboration. Assign resources and oversee the execution of all initiatives related to research activities while effectively managing up to cross-functional team stakeholders. This includes keeping them informed, soliciting buy-in, seeking agreement, and gathering feedback as projects progress.
In partnership with our third-party research provider, source, collect, and analyze data. Oversee topline and summary reports to explain trends and formulate alternative solutions or recommendations. Utilize insights to inform the development of go-to-market thought leadership, articles, and sales enablement materials.
Write and edit market-focused content, such as client-facing whitepapers, articles, and digital communication materials, in collaboration with the Research Center team and close partnership with GA marketing and content teams. Communication materials are carefully crafted to build our reputation and empower our clients with in-depth analysis, facilitating sales development and earning client loyalty.
Write and deliver presentations at industry conferences and client events. Construct a compelling narrative to captivate audiences through various formats, including keynotes, breakouts, fireside chats, and panel discussions. This role welcomes speakers who are either experienced or on the rise in their journey, showing promise and enthusiasm in public speaking engagements.
Deliver risk excellence and comply with the sales supervision culture that demonstrates and promotes the highest ethical standards.

Education & preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 8 years experience in market research, ideally in the wealth management sector, with a proven track record of success in building sales enablement initiatives as well as managing relationships with senior decision-makers.

Salary Range:
$110,000 - $185,000 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
