Platform Engineering (a/k/a Infrastructure Engineering) (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, MA): Will design and drive the Alpha Platform Roadmap implementation by aligning Alpha Platform priorities to client solutions and constructing the platform architecture to support future capabilities. The individual will work at the cusp, between functional and technical domains of the product integrations, and is a subject matter expert of the underlying business processes and the required technology. Specific responsibilities include: Lead and bridge internal and external cross-functional teams of engineers/software developers to design, integrate, and advise upon enterprise architecture strategies, processes, and methodologies to align with the Alpha Platform Roadmap and ensure effective, efficient, agile, and durable system deliverables; Serve as lead technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for system solution design and client implementation ensuring client and product roadmap aligns with State Street’s Alpha Enterprise Platform ; Surveil the technology landscape and third-party systems and identify systems and solutions to extend Alpha Platform capabilities, assessing cost, portability, compatibility, and/or usability; Provide detailed, technical, hands on analysis, investigation methods, quality assurance, and problem-solving across different interfaces using Alpha Platform systems (e.g., Charles River IMS, Alpha Data Platform, etc.) using the expertise in these systems’ functioning, data mapping, and dependencies; Design and implement automated measures for proactive capture of data discrepancies in performance analytics and accounting data across multiple Alpha Platform systems and replicate the measures across multiple client environments and interfaces; Efficiently replicate existing designs on a new system/interface within a short lead time for implementation; Expertise in generating Dashboards, Data Visualization Reports, and Presentations to be consumed across the organization and clients; Evaluate clients’ specific business problems and develop solutions by applying end-to-end knowledge of the investment management cycle; Contribute to software quality by testing and efficiently reporting clear defects, supporting the resolution process, validating the resulting fixes, and enhancing the resulting documentation; Monitor and evaluate Alpha requirements to identify potential enhancements to the interface and services as part of Alpha Project requirements or in response to trends in the marketplace; Proactively evaluate, promote, and document implementation and operations best practices. 25% domestic travel. Full-time telecommuting permitted pursuant to Company policy.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, plus 7 years of hands-on experience in roles such as lead solution, technical, business architecture and/or project lead in the asset management or financial services industry. Alternate Requirements: Master’s degree, or its equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, plus 5 years of hands-on experience in roles such as lead solution, technical, business architecture and/or project lead in the asset management or financial services industry.

Must have: Experience in a client-facing role and experience working on large-scale client-facing projects; Success in identifying relationships across business services and technology platforms; Proven experience in FinTech, Transaction Lifecycle Management, Enterprise Data Management, Investment Accounting, Performance Measurement, or Investment Book of Records within a bank, hedge fund, asset manager, or wealth management firm; Experience supporting or implementing investment/wealth management, accounting, or back-office workflows with advanced knowledge in Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, OTC, and FX instruments; Experienced problem solver and analytical thinker who decomposes complex issues, performs root cause analysis, chairs issue calls, assigns stakeholder action items, and develops precise documentation; Proven solid knowledge of relational databases (SQL), ETL tools (Kettle, Talend, etc.), scheduling tools (Autosys, Tidal, Control M, etc.), software programming (Java, C#, etc), networking concepts, and systems integration to ensure that a project can confidently be led end-to-end for product delivery to clients; Proven solid knowledge of Charles River IMS; Advanced verbal and written skills to communicate complex data-centric information by tailoring and representing it as clear and concise plans, reports, issues, and risks to executives, and technology and business partners; Team player able to openly share knowledge and experience, who takes initiative to keep others informed through contributions to "best practices" and how mentors less-experienced colleagues while accumulating expertise of more-experienced colleagues; Advanced leadership and interpersonal skills to read people and work to their strengths and weakness for effectively leading the team; and Strong project and time management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel. All skills/ experience can be gained concurrently.)

Salary Range:

$139,901 - $220,000 Annual
